Sorry, I can't help with the question but just wanted to say that I'll be there for the open house and showcase on Saturday. If you see a chick with blonde and purple hair, come say hi! 🙂

Pole classes and aerial hoop and silks private lessons -
Anyone else?
PolePixi, which classes were you hoping to do? The two that I am most excited about are Natasha Wang and the Nadia/Mina Doubles class.

Good on the owner for realizing that enforcing the "judgement-free zone" was better for her business than the rude girl's money!

The C9 seamless racerback from Target is my favorite: http://www.target.com/p/c9-by-champion-women-s-seamless-racer-bra-assorted-colors/-/A-13787056#?lnk=sc_qi_detaillink
I have it in 4 or 5 different colors (they change the available colors periodically) and a couple of them are over 4 years old….they still have great compression!

I don't know about Indiana but I think the closest studio to Dayton would be in Cincinnati. Either Bella Forza Fitness or Pole Kittens (not sure where either is located in Cinci or which is closest to Dayton).

I think I may have my girls do this exercise in class – thanks Veena!
Physical
1. My very defined shoulders and back
2. My smirky smile
3. My hourglass figurePole
1. My strong shoulder mount
2. My ability to flow into and out of moves
3. My understanding of physics as it relates to pole 😉 -
"I find that places with mixed crowds (i.e – gyms) tend to have a different environment. Not as supportive. Men compete one against the other, everyone is trying to impress the opposite sex. They become a meat market. "
This is so not true at my studio. Men start in a male-only class but they integrate at the high intermediate level. However, our strength training, flexibility sessions, and open pole times are all co-ed. We have 4 regualr male students. Three of them do co-ed classes and several of them are typically at open pole. They are always helping each other out and the girls in lower levels (not co-ed levels) are always asking them for tips. While the guys may be a little competitive with each other, it is a healthy competition and they realize that each has their own strengths. Also, our girls get really excited when they get a move that the guys have been struggling with.

I'm going to bring this old thread back up and try this again. I still really want these shoes but really don't want to pay over $85 for them! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

Thanks Bethany & Ginger Kitty – I will definitely look into getting that one!

Email sent!
Ginger Kitty, I've been looking around and have found the manual and some non-ACE items but I would like to have some of the things they sell specifically for the purpose. Thanks though!

Mary Ellyn is spot on, on every observation she made.

Ummmm….I've also seen people with certifications with absolutely no idea of how to keep their students safe. I don't think certification is the be-all-end-all indication of a good instructor. I also believe that there are people out there teaching that know what they are doing that never got certified. Judge an instructor based on their technique, not on the piece(s) of paper they may have.

Congratulations! I hope it's a smooth journey for you and that you find success!
I went with Platinum Stages single piece permanent poles for my studio. They are 11.5' high and I didn't feel that a multi-piece or removable would be a stable option. Also, I love how simple it is to switch PS poles from static to spin.
I ended up with 6 poles, which is what I could fit in my space with adequate room between them. I say no less than 6.5' between walls and poles and no less than 7.5' between poles. That's basically what I've got (with two rows of three poles, staggered) and we never have problems with kicking things/each other.

My hair is pretty recognizable…..I hope anyone from SV will come introduce themselves if they run into me! And I will, of course, be on the lookout for the buttons. 🙂

We call it the Drama Queen and I've seen it referred to as the Sad Girl, as well.

Danielle, I’m sure you and Becca will both blow the audience away!

Congrats to all the competitors who made it to the next round!
We got great news tonight, in regards to the Motor City Theatrics and Artistry division. Two of the girls from my studio made it into the final round!!! This is huge for us since neither of them have competed before and our studio is still so new. I know they'll do amazing and represent us well. 🙂
Oh, by the way, it's Jessica Jasmine and Natasha Nova – both sometime Veeners. 😉
