I also will move into a condo with metal studs in the celing, my husband has the same concern like your workman. I currently live in a wood frame house and use an x-pole.

I want to add that handstand against a pole is easier to achieve than against the wall. With a pole behind me, my leg can kick up then hook on to it with the foot, then I can drag my other leg up. But with a wall behind me, after a kick I tend to bounce back by hitting the wall. Once you can get into the kick/hook thing, it became much easier to further improve upon that motion by letting the first leg go up even further, second leg just follow, so the hook is no longer required. Hope this helps!

You might find it easier to sell on Craigslist. I have sold several xpoles myself really fast, within a week.and you don’t need to worry about shipping. Im from bc too 😉

I had laser done on my legs and armpits,it s expensive but so worth it. Now I’m almost bold enough to do my bikini but my husband says it’s creepy to have no hair down there as a grown up woman!lol…i suppose i could go with partial lasered too.. but it would be so nice not having ever To trim it at all.

Brass monkey. I can get to it but I look tense and ungraceful because I’m scared to fall

Can’t do it. I can’t pole with tiny amount of distraction. The naked skin just feel so sensitive. Just the same reason why I can’t fall asleep naked lol

This video might help you, especially the part towards the end talking about the exit from the move Sparrowhawk. It’s not as scary as it looks, since you still have your one hand on the pole -
Pankake, I would try any oil for lubricating machines if available, like the kind you use on a sewing machine? otherwise I think cooking oil should just do the same job.

I have owned both original style(top loading) xpole and xpert (bottom loading) xpole. From my experience and from what I have read in this forum, the xpert xpole just tend to have these problems – slight bow, noticeable tight spot when turns in hand, and clicking noise from the top dome. Sometimes you may just get rid of it by loosening it up a bit, but in my case, I kept loosening it up to see if it helps but then the pole is no longer safe to use. I have taken mine down and up so many times too. The only thing I didn’t try is to oil the top connecting part. You may try it to see if it helps to rid of the noise?

I run 10k once a week, the rest of week I try to pole every night. But that’s because I really dont have much time each night, it’s 1 hour to 1.5hr at most, so I foam roll/stretch for half hour, then the rest is for pole. Often time I have only half hour to pole then I have to go to bed…

Years ago when I started poling, I had one of these on my left wrist. It would hurt when I pole, I got frustrated, almost would’ve tried everything to get rid of it. I stopped poling, iced, went to a chiro twice. Had a martial art master pressed a big coin on it really hard, it hurted so bad but I think it popped, so my wrist looked a little swollen but flat for a week, but the damn thing came back when my wrist got less swollen! So I don’t know if that really helped at all and several months had past by. Eventually, this may sound hard to believe, it’s actually going back to pole gradually finally got rid of the problem. I would do plenty of wrist warmups, Veena has great tutorials! And I would pose my wrist in a way to squeeze it from inside, ie, hand stand against the pole. So my suggestion would be keep on poling, but avoid super challenging moves to your injured wrist, gradually increase the difficulty level in a couple months you should be fine.

I’d like to know why your doctor suggest you stop poling. My mother had thyroid problem as well, she s the kind that refuses to take any meds, in the end it’s the exercise that help her to get better. Now she rarely has the problem, but if she feels something that’s not right, she ll get her blood checked out.

I’m a Web and iOS programmer working in a university’s IT department. Currently working on an iphone/ipad app I think a lot of us pole dancers will enjoy using.(can’t wait to share here once it’s in the app store!) I’m also a freelance artist specializing in charcoal and color pastel drawings from photos.

Hello moguto from china! I was born and raised in china, moved to north America 13 years ago. I’m not even sure the small town I grew up in has a pole studio… I go back and visit every 3 years or so since my parents and family are here with me. From the videos i watched in youku.com, The style they teach seems quite different comparing to north America- it seems that heels and boots are necessity for pole classes.;)

Mine tend to do the same thing on static… that's partially why I leave it on spin mode now. The screws just tend to untight themselves after I do a few spins on static mode. Especially when I hold the pole too tight in spins.
-
Filming videos is easier because you could just dance on spinning pole, it catches all of angles until your pole stops spinning. Static pole is challenging, I would think a mirror behind camera is helpful. For taking static photos, I have to use static pole, which gives me more control for position I end up in. You can do this yourself if you use your camera with timer setting, mine goes up to 10 seconds, which is just enough for me to run to the pole, and get into the certain pose, then hold and wait for camera to flash… =D
-
I think you can do it yourself… Although I have not repaired shoes myself. I would open the padding a bit, just so I can sand the surface, apply some crazy glue, stick the strap back in. should probably sit some heavy weights for hours on it afterwards.

I had wrist problem 2 years ago due to not enough warm up before poling. I stayed off my pole for 2 months as advised by doctors but 2 months later my wrist was still not better and I was getting depressed from no pole. It even bothered me when I use keyboard during the day at work, and I am a computer programmer. What really helped was when I started to do light workout on pole again, such as doing spins on static pole. I would make sure I had enough warm up and do lots of wrist flexes before attempting, and I was amazed to find out after each workout my wrist felt warm and painless. Wearing a wrist band might be a good idea during pole workout, but I would suggest not wearing one during the day, because I think the body tend to comfortably adapt to the environment. The more assistance you are giving your body to achieve the result, the less hard your body would work by itself. But do lots of wrist exercises during the day whenever you get a chance. Veena has lots of them. Good luck, hope your wrsit heal soon!

In theory, all iPhone apps should work on iPad as well, but not the other way, iPad apps that stated for iPad only will not run on iPhone. IPhone apps running on iPad will not show as full screen, but can ne scaled to 2x the size as it’s shown on iPhone, however it looks a little pixelated.

Pole move combos on spinny pole, please! =)
