Girl, I started just like you! I couldn’t even do a simple fireman spin at first. It took me a few weeks or maybe even a month before I could do basic spins. I was already working out in the gym lifting weights, so I was pretty strong, but I still couldn’t get up the pole. Climbing wasn’t too bad but because of my past military experience I was used to rope climbing and the pole climb was very similar. Anyway, it took lost of practice and alternating rest and stretching in between. I progress slowly, so it has taken me like forever to move forward, but everyone gets it in their own time Wish you luck dear, you’ve picked a really fun hobby!

how come theres such a big problem with you tube and music but you can upload any music you want on studioveena? Is it because of the type of website or something? I was just curious… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif

I started on a lil mynx. The pole has a small round plastic part that bolts to the stud in the ceiling. After measuring the pole ( to ensure tension) the pole is lifted to couple with the bolted plastic part on the ceiling. Because the pole is spring loaded, the part that is in contact with the ceiling connector will have tension, so you have to really push up on the pole to get it into place ( without dragging the rubber feet) The pole comes in one complete piece, so it is harder to put away. However, the pole does leave a small plastic hook inside of the mount which you an eventually remove when you no longer want to use the pole. after taking down my pole I noticed quite a bit of damage to the plaster. I had to re-plaster the ceiling because the mount for the lil mynx sometimes rotates with the pole. Not a big deal, just took a couple of minutes.
Now I have an Xpert pole. I love the x-pert, but you absolutely have to follow the instructions to a T, or you will ruin the pole. The pole comes in several pieces and with carrying bags, so it is easy to take with you anywhere. The pole has "Xjoints" which are heavy expanding cylinders. These joints are what connect the pole pieces together. They are pretty darn sturdy. It takes about fifteen to twenty minutes to put it together the first time, and that time quickly decreases once you understand how to do it and once you become familiar with the use of the parts. The joints go into the end portions of the pole pieces. The joints have each two holes in them where a hidden hex screw is and the pole pieces each have one hole at the very joining edge. The holes in the poles meet with the holes in the joint once the joint is placed inside the pole. The holes meet up so you can use a wrench to gain access to the joint’s hex screw to tighten. Once all of the poles have been connected with joints the pole is erected and the pole can be made tighter to the ceiling by turning the adjuster at the bottom. So, it’s not a difficult process, but it can take some time if you aren’t familiar with the parts and how they work. This is not in anyway an instructional, so if you are putting the pole together please refer to the instruction manual it comes with. I just wanted to take some of the mystery out of the xpert for some people like me who might be new to the process.
hope this helps you some. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif -
here’s a link for a vid on how to make a leg stretcher at home using a pair of wooden crutches…you ca’t use aluminum ones because you can’t take them completely apart…Someone else posted this in another vid..hope it helps.

OK, so I am having the friggin same problem. ALL of my joints have rotated into the pole. Apparently when you don’t tighten the hex’s (like super tight) it leaves the joint room to wiggle when you apply pressure to the pole. ( as in when you spin the pole actually will spin around the exjoint in stationary mode) So, I called x-pole. I told them I have three sections stuck with two joints. The main pole A came loose but the joint is still stuck in it. (and the broom trick did not help) Now I’ve got 2 main poles B stuck together ( with no luck of ever coming apart) and one main pole A with a joint rotated into it. I have to call back tomorrow to see if a technician can offer further assistance with this problem. Heidi did mention that if I can not take apart the parts they will send me new parts but, now what do I do with my baby lying on the floor? I can’t very well pole dance with the air https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
I’m not sure is this is an issue with the pole, or if I am just not strong enough to get those hex things tight enough. I did check them three times. (like I bowed out the key trying to tighten them) soooooo, IDK. what do you think about this?

which teaches you how to make a leg stretcher out of crutches. It works!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_bounce.gif I just did it and am getting a really good stretch! "

Ok good point. A funy thing happened the other day when my pole arrived at my house….
I was supposed to be on a play date with my daughter and neighbor. Well because i was putting up my pole I was sooooo beyond late. I told my husband to go over there and take my daughter with him so they don’t wonder where we were. He went to the neighbor’s house and for some reason they wanted to come over my house. Well low and behold when the neighbor came into our house ( my pole is in my living room smack in front of the television) His eyes popped out! He was like " are you a tripper?" I was like no silly I’m a stay at home mom silly. He said "I don’t judge this is your house" but he looked ashamed. Then his daughter asked him "daddy what is that" and he said " oh that’s her stripper pole honey" I laughed my a$$ of and was like, "um no honey it’s a dance fittness pole kinda like the fire man has" C’mon guy she’s 3!!! -
Hehehe what about just using the word pole fitness? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif
Oh I have my "pole fittness" folder with my pics in it and people still ask about my "stripper pole pics" they’re stooooopid. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif

I only have one facebook account.
I think that everyone I know knows that I pole dance. I was so excited when I started that I told everybody about it, people at work, my friends and family. And its no secret at allt. To me its no different then any other sport or dance. Most people are just supportive and happy for me for doing what I love. I dont see anything wrong with poledancing so if anyone else thinks that there is something wrong with it and that im doing it, then its just really not my problem. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gifYeh good point. I wish I could be so open like that. I just get tired of doing the "Explanation dance" with people..BOOOO!

that’s a pretty good Idea! I might try that. Although I keep all of my pole pics on my fb and I select only certain people who can see them, although that can get kind of annoying after a while.

thanks so much, that sounds like it makes sense. I was putting all the extensions in the bottom and the bag was all lop sided! I finally figured out all of that velcro stuff and realized I’m probably not going to need all of those straps…that’s a good thing. SOooo overall, I totally appreciate your reply and I think I will do it that way. thanks so much!

In the South (USA) everyone knows what WD-40 is. It’s our fix-all.
"That hinge squeaky?" WD-40.
"Brakes squealing?" WD-40.
"Face broke out?" Wd-40.Ok, kidding about the face, but I’m sure some Southerner has considered it.
lol! I guess it’s like WINDEX huh?
