MemberJanuary 5, 2012 at 9:01 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages and X-Pole Side By Side DemoI just have one question to all of the studio veena enthusiasts and xpole supporters and I expect an answer. Have you ever poled on Platinum Stages? How many of you who are so quick to judge me have actually tried both products?

MemberJanuary 5, 2012 at 8:54 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages and X-Pole Side By Side DemoPlatinum Stages supports the US economy because all the materials used for their poles are domestic. X-Pole goes with inferior quality materials created by China. If you support American companies you will support Platinum Stages Poles.
Thanks

MemberJanuary 5, 2012 at 7:42 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages and X-Pole Side By Side DemoAs a paying member on this site, I have the right to share my opinions. And, it is Veena's and Webmaster's perogative to ban me, if they choose. I really don't care either way. I think that a healthy debate about our views shows balance, not vice. I may disagree with them, but that does not invalidate either opinion. I do respect Veena's "X-Pert" opinion. @Webmaster, you just said it yourself, the Star Stand Alone is the preferred choice amongst people in the industry.

MemberJanuary 5, 2012 at 7:21 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages and X-Pole Side By Side Demo@Veena. You sure did. But there is something that should be stated here. Nobody who is a novice is going to buy a stand alone pole. The only people who are going to invest in that kind of product is a professional studio owner who wants to take a pole on the street or in a mall on on a beach to promote her business. These people being professionals in the industry know how to pole correctly on any given product. If the Star Stand Alone Pole is lighter in weight, shorter, cheaper than the X-Pole lite than it serves it's purpose. You however are demonstrating a product on the level of professional competitors. Who would never perform on such a stage anyway. The entire infomercial was as cheap as something I would see in the midle of the night when watching witch pasta drainer was more high tech than the other. Besides that as a studio owner you should be more concerned with the quality of your video instruction than which poles you are pushing to an audience.
And you know exactly what I am talking about here.

MemberJanuary 5, 2012 at 7:11 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages and X-Pole Side By Side Demo@webmaster … Sir, nobody who is trained as a pole fitness expert, or studies pole from a real studio would take your demonstration, or your explanation seriously. Look at Felix Cane, and look at Veena. There is no comparison. And I certainly didn't need to see you in the video, how much do you weigh anyway?

MemberJanuary 5, 2012 at 7:02 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages and X-Pole Side By Side DemoI just do not understand why all the girls on this site kiss Veena's ass. Again like I said if this site was just about teaching pole and encouraging girls to pole and enjoy themselves than product pushing would not be an issue. But again this is "Veena's Studio" and like all studios in this country everybody has the right to their opinions. My experience with X-Pole has been just as negative as all the posts against Platinum Stages. Ty the owner of X-Pole US is a bigget, arrogant, and chooses to use his influence and money to sway studio owners into buying his products. X-Pole does not even have the capability to produce custom poles. If you ask Be Spun in LA who supplied their poles they will have to tell you Platinum Stages. Even though they have a huge lit X-Pole sign in their studio those ARE NOT X-Poles. What you buy is what you get. X-Pole has no other prerogative then to sell it's products and could care less about it's costumers. But so does Platinum Stages. They are both pole distributors and they care about sales. Let's not start believing that X-Pole cares any more about the needs of it's clients that the other. In the end they both want people to buy their poles.

MemberJanuary 5, 2012 at 6:46 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages and X-Pole Side By Side DemoThis video is completely bias. Again, like I have said before. It is obvious in this video that Veena is trying to prove X-Poles superiority to Platinum Stages Poles. Yawn. I would like to criticize this video for what I actually saw by direct observation. The first is that it is clear that Veena is trying to pole as violently as she can on the Platinum Stages pole to show it's "instability". Yes we understand that the star stand alone pole is lighter in weight than the X-Stage lite. Has anybody looked at Felix Cane demonstrating on the Star Stand Alone Pole in her own app "Pocket Pole Studio"? Yes she is poling on a Star Stand Alone. Well if you have not please check it out. That is proof alone that a capable pole expert can pole on the Star Stand Alone without it shaking, or looking like she is going to fly off it. Veena clearly shows a lack of proper technique when demonstrating on the PS pole. She talks about how short the PS stage pole is but does not demonstraight anything on it with an extension. Bias. The camera is also very strategically placed so that you can not see her feet of legs climbing over the top of the X-Stage lite. I would know these things because I am a videographer. I think it's hysterical how she puts on such an act to pull out of the base the X-Pole lite's pole. Veena really? Are you that bad of an actor? Not to mention that you can simply pull out a pin to make the PS pole spin opposed to pulling out equipment to have to make it spin.
The second slicking thing is watching her fat husband trying to tip both stages. HONESTLY will anybody practicing on this pole behave in that manner? The center of gravity on the pole is wight baring DOWN on the pole and it's base. Not holding on to a pole and trying to flip it. There is going to be give and some level of movement when doing pole on a free standing stage. It will wave a little. Also Veena made a mistake on the price of a PS pole, it's about $50 cheaper than what she says. I have poled on both and they are comparable. Is the X-Stage lite better or not as good is up to personal opinion, but the PS Star stand alone was clearly represented in a bad light on purpose. The only reason this video exists is because of the incestuous relationship between this site and the kick back Veena get's for promoting X-Pole.
Thanks.

MemberDecember 29, 2011 at 11:10 pm in reply to: Why is Studio Veena Bias towards X-Pole?A kick back is the commission on sales of a product. The more sales you make the more you earn. That was not disrespectful, that is a term we use in business everyday.

MemberDecember 29, 2011 at 9:29 pm in reply to: Why is Studio Veena Bias towards X-Pole?It's my opinon that a website like this should be a free forum to the consumers. Studio veena closed a thread on Platinum Stages Poles when all they did was try to give clerification on their poles and how they were made… This is a free country, based on capitalism. This site obviously does not believe in the American approach to free speech.

I think it depends on the prerogative of the owners of the competition. Most competitions have two divisions one for women and one for men for that purpose… But it is also very interesting to mix it up…. I think it's great. Maybe there should be a competition all about men competing against women like a dance off. Something more about entertainment value rather than just tricks. I look forward to seeing where Derick Pierson places in Denver being the only male. If he won that could stir some controversy. But he would deserve it if the judges made that choice.

@Angel Im so sorry I didn't know that! I will definitely mention your program in the future… I believe it is VERY important that an organization like ACE and AFFA approve of a teacher training, it adds weight to your program and is very important when it comes to liability and professionalism.

I want to be as polite as I can when sharing this story with you all. I did the X-Pert training and I enjoyed every minute of the class, instruction, and practice teaching time. It was worth every dime. I realized after the first two hours that I had NEVER really climbed properly or trained my body to economize power on the pole! Now I could climb all day and never get tired. Kyra Johannesen, Marlo Fisken, Steven Retchless, Roland Brown, all use these training tecnuques and methods for performing, and I wanted to learn from the best dancers I could.
Also the safety and proper spotting methods are ridiculously important. How to build a class plan that is not haphazardly leading a class without a goal. How to know when a student is ready to progress to more challenging moves.
I took a class after I finished my training and I could see the difference between myself and an instructor who had not been formally trained. A girl came to an open pole class, and it was her second or third class, she could not do a full pole crunch, after a half hour the teacher was trying to get her to invert, after an hour she was trying to explain leg hangs. I cringed because after learning about foundational strength training, progression of movements, and proper spotting techniques (which she was never spotted) I could see this girl was frustrated by the end of the class and might never come back. I bit my tongue. Yes the teacher was a good dancer, but she lacked the tools to perform a safe and effective class.
A lot of time and effort is put into a certification course, X-Pert is the only pole certification recognized by both ACE and AFFA. EVERY group exercise instructor in every studio should have their CPR training. Finally from a liability point of view, If I owned my own studio I would require a certification from all of my instructors regardless of where they trained OC or wherever. If their was an accident and a student became injured and decided to press charges against me I could show the judge that myself and my instructors are trained professionals. That changes options in a court of law.
@Theo, hun I am not being rude, but if you are affraid of your instructors teacher better than you, or bringing diversity to your studio, you must be extremely insecure in yourself. If I were you I would be the first person to get certified and require all your instructors to get certified by the same program so you are all on the same page.
