I never joined a challenge and I would love to start with this one 🙂 but since I never participated, I’m have stupid questions 😄 should we share videos or photos? Is it one per day or can we post in random days? Finally, should these be posted in that order? Sorry! Newbie here 😄😄😄

Instagram closed your account for copyright infringement???? Some of my posts got blocked due to this but never something as drastic as that! What seems to be working A LOT for me (100% of the time) is posting the video where I’m dancing to music playing live during the video. I mean, if I edit the video and add music, IG will block it. If I play music during my performance, combo of trick it will be totally fine. Good luck with your new account, I hope your experience this time is much better than before!

Dear all,
I just wanted to update you about my back issues.
After I wrote this post, I was in and out of pole due to continue injuries in my back. No matter how much I rested, and tried conditioning exercises, I was getting injuries after a little move a bit stronger than my back could endure.
I went to a physio, which helped a lot, but didn’t solve the problem.
However, around a year after I wrote this post, and after coming back from, again, a back injury, I realized that I was able to do tricks with much more ease than before. Things I was not able to do in the past, were super easy to perform. Also, tricks that I was already doing, felt way easier and lighter than before.
So, my assumtion is that I just got stronger! When having these pains, my back and body overall was too weak, but for some reason, after a break, suddenly I got stronger! Now it’s been more than 8 months totally pain free!! 🙂 don’t get me wrong, I’m now VERY conscious every time I invert, or go down from a shoulder mount (this is how I used to get injured), but even though I’ve been training 2 to 3 times a week, I haven’t had pain in many months.
Just wanted to post this in case someone is having similar issues as I had, as I think this might give some light to some people.
I really appreciate your comments and advises, and I HOPE not having to write back here never again! haha!
Hugs,

MemberSeptember 11, 2016 at 8:49 am in reply to: Anyone else really weak when starting out?I had the same problem as you, I felt I was the weakest of my class and I couldn’t really hold my positions. I think that after around 7-8 months I slowly started to feel an improvement. I think practicing my Ayesha and holding my whole body upside down, gave me lots of strength in my arms. Don’t get discouraged, we all had the same issue 😉

Julia Marie, I had an extremely strong pain under my left shoulder blade that hurted incredible, by just moving, breathing and sneezing. It started with the inversions, and then with shoulder mounts.
I rested for around 2-3 months, I went to a physio (a really great one) who gave me a therapy of not only massages, but actually pressing very strongly where the injury was. He also made me work out with machines in order to streghten my muscles. It really helped and the pain was gone.BUT the injury is still there…When doing some floorwork where that muscle is in use, it comes back again. I’ve tried a shoulder mount last week, and I had this deep and strong pain in the same place. Fortunately, it was inmediately gone, but I had to stop and try on the other side.
I know how frustrated you feel…I know this exactly… 🙁

I completely relate to you…I used to have injuries while inverting and doing shoulder mounts. I had to stop for months and I went to physios. Now the pain is gone BUT I know the injury is still there, I felt it during a shoulder mount the other day. The pain is just waiting for the extra push to appear. It’s really annoying and discouraging…

Thank you for your replies!!
I also thought of buying the Rpole but it looked not so stable and so expensive!
Unfortunately you need to be super strong or have a man around to help you to move this thing around.
Have you tried using the pole without the panels? I agree with Veena that it might be a bit dangerous since the base might move, but have you tried this?

Great topic!
I posted it on Facebook when I went to my first pole class. My parents (150% conservatives and traditional) are now absolutely excited about it (after showing them what pole really is about). My brother and some close friends had the wrong image of the sport (even after months!!), so now, everytime I tell someone I pole dance, I do it by showing them a video of Natalia Tatarintseva (she does a very artistic, gymnastic pole dance). This is where they open their eyes like eggs and say “but this looks like like ballet, or ice skating”!”, and then they accept they had just prejudices.
My co-workers don’t know it yet (I’ve been working in this company for 3 months only and I work in a legal department…). But I will tell them eventually and I will have the video ready. If they still have a negative opinion about it, then I will just think they have some mental disorder sexually related. Their problem, not mine!
-
Btw, I’m intermediate, had a lot of back problems, so I need to be careful with inverts and shoulder mounts and I’m not into sexy pole, but I don’t mind training with other styles 🙂

Yes!!! I’m from Switzerland, so same time zone, I believe! I’m free to train on Tuesdays/Wednesdays/Thursdays evenings (after 7 pm). Would be so nice to have someone to train with 🙂

Thank you for such a helpful answer Snowwwhite!!!! Photo shootings is one of the uses, but I’m so looking forward to try new tricks (I also noticed it is less painful!) and to be able to do small choreographies in spinning mode without sliding and having to stop to wear more grip aid all the time! It’s really frustrating…
I have ordered it and I can’t wait to receive it!
Thank you for your advises!!!

Thank you for the repply Cherryblossom! Very helpful! I’m thinking about this more seriously since it’s so hard for me to grip due to my sweaty hands! Even using grip aids…it’s really frustrating not being able to do 4 combinations one after the other because I start to slide 🙁
-
I totally understand your point Moonflower. It’s definitely super grippy, I was able to try it for the first time a couple of days ago, and I could grip so well, but then, no chance to smoothly slide. I didn’t experience the slippery sweaty part, though. I have already a brass pole at home in which i normally train. But I wanted to take advantage of the summer and buy something for the outside. And I thought it would be best, to buy something VERY different than what I currently have. Also, would be great for photo shootings. I’m still thinking about it…not sure of what to do!
