It just frusterates me and it seems like this happens a lot in the pole community. Just today I saw a claim from a studio in a different state claiming that all the studio owners in that city had trained there. I happen to know this as false as the one trained with Fawnia. Of course they didn't call her out by name. It really is odd o well.

Because it doesn’t exist kind of like my good referral on veena

First off let me say thank you to everyone. You are all absolutely amazing!
As far as my claims of legal action if I was to take send a ceist and desist I would be ready for an all out legal battle as libel is a very difficult thing to prove in court. Internet law has some blurred boundaries. This is one of the few things that stuck with my from public relations. I also hardly doubt they follow the forums, as she hasnt been seen on here since. Since they endorse the idea that instructors do not need to expand and practice unless they suck, at least that is was I get from reading their website, they do not feel anyone else has anything to offer. As stated by multiple women here practicing with other people and being a student is something that is great for teachers. It expands our knowledge, opens our minds, and can be a humbling experience. As Pam said I take classes whereever and whenever I can even if it is a basics. I have learned so many new things and to think that people have nothing to offer is foolish. And there is also an ass for every seat diffrenet people look for different things in instructors. Some people want to learn to booty shake. I look like an epileptic, they would be better off somewhere else or for me to pay my little brother to come teach someone :-p. On that note can some teach me thow to booty pop or interested in teaching a workshop in akron lol
Ugh and in my post on here I simply stated I would not recommend them. I even put that I if the practiconer was advance that I would not recommend myself. I only teach to an intremediate level, depending on your deffinition of intermediate. Ughh. Some people are so immature.

I have already tried their web-host :-(. On our website I posted that I was not affliliated with any of the studios but the fore mentioned after stating the two studios I work at. Of course our website is under construction because we moved to a larger studio and are under new ownership. It is a bit frusterating. Can't we all just get a long for the most part N.E.O studios are pretty supportive and loving of each other or we at least do not step on each other toes. Of course we have the fabulous Chemgoddess who unites us all, <3 you Pam. Also I have never in my life met the owner. Call me old fashioned but when you open up a studio you usually contact the other studios in the area and at least meet them.

I haven't posted in forever. My life has been absolutely crazy! I graduated college, became engaged, lost both of my great grandmas, my little brother is graduating, moved, and took over managing the yoga studio I work at. I figure this is a great place to reintroduce myself to the boards.
The first time i poled was in 2005 at Phi Sigma Kappa. My friend was a dancer and showed me some moves and I was hooked! I couldn't lift my legs above my head and had to have my then b/f help flip me upside down. Come to think of it he was a great spoter, but I was also 105 lbs :-p.
In 2006 I started dancing. I danced off and on for 2 and a half years and loved every minute of it. I bought the S factor book and came in during dayshifts to learn. I trained with the most advance pole dancer at our club (she should be a competition dancer, I am really sad I lost her contact info). After about 6 months I was the go to person to learn pole moves. I started to take the new girls under my wing and teach them all I knew and to study proper form in technique.
In 2009 I took a hiatus due to my own personal health issues, a wrist & shoulder injury, and family issues.
In June of 2010 I was offered the chance to teach at Lifesource Yoga in Fairlawn. I jumped on it and have been teaching ever since. In August of 2010 I joined the staff of Cleveland Exotic Dance. I am currently still teaching at both places and excited about the prospect of helping other people open studios around our area, pass on my knowledge to anyone willing to listen, and learn as much as I can from as many people as I can. I am currently training to yoga instructor and am planning to get my personal trainer and group instructor this summer and am working off the excess pounds from my hiatus.

MemberOctober 10, 2010 at 8:32 pm in reply to: Wrist guards, wrist braces, wrist supports, gloves???I have been poling with wrist support for the past couple weeks, but I have a wrist injury. About 5 weeks ago I started experiencing horrible wrist pain whenever I moved my wrist. I could do planks but not downward dog. Then I couldn’t do pushups, about two weeks ago I was getting numbness. I tried, ice, heat, anti-inflams, epsom salt soaks, and a brace. Nothing worked, finally I went to the doctors and she did not confirm or disconfirm anything. She told me to splint it, no pole, ice, and anti-inflams for two weeks. So frusterating. I can not pole in the splint , however, I can pole with just plain ol’ self-sticking sports wrap. It seems to help when I pole. My wrist is still hurting but now I think it is from lack of use. I have decided to just get used to it since it is not going away. I had the same issue when I danced three years ago off and on. Good luck with your support. I would do strength training and stretching and then maybe you can for-go the brace. I will start my own therapy routine for my wrist soon.

I have never had a problem with spins on it or any pole for that matter. I actually wipe down the pole alot from my sweating. I think pole stickiness is different to each individual. After time u will be able to compensate for the slippage with a better grip or grip aids https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif. I hope that helps!

Or everyone can live in Akron https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif ! Whiskey Dicks & Outlawz both have poles. Not to mention I do and my friend just bought and xpole and wants to start poling. We will probably meet up at the studio every now and then.

I have the gold titanium. I have heard complaints that xpole’s chrome that the finish begins to peel off. The gold titanium xpole turns colors. My x-pole is extremely sturdy plus it is portable and causes no damage. It is great compared to a lil mynx that screws into a ceiling or platinum stages where you can not change the pole size if you move. Those are just my general opinions. I think my gold titanium is sexay!

MemberAugust 2, 2010 at 2:17 am in reply to: Would you consider this strength training?A lot of swimmers gain a lot of upperbody. The water offers the resistance. As far as yoga it uses the principle of using your own body weight as resistance much like pole. Also a lot of pole routines can be broken down in a yoga flow. So I thought I would ask. Also
A lot of yogis I know do yoga alone and have developed a lot of lean muscle. :-p. -
I also believe it isn’t the number of poles per student but students per teacher, thus also regarding to how many poles you need to watch. I could see someones argument about 10 students being unsafe with one teacher.
One reason may be the factor of room (I doubt this is a problem with your studio) unfortunately I have seen studios with their poles way too close together. I am amazed no one has hurt themselves.
Another reason is perhaps they think it would be to hard to watch 10 students for good form and injury prevention.
Another argument is when you get into inverts and they are learning how could you possibly spot 10 people.
your students are probably not in that extreme beginner stage and you may not have a.d.d like I do https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_shaking2.gif . -
I had leep done about 3 years ago. They found type 2,3 & 4 cancer cells and I also have cervical dysplacia & endometriosis. They put me under for my LEEP procedure. I had no issues and no pain after. Hope all goes well for you darling. Here is to a speedy recovery https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif.

I have 2 calluses on each hand – one under each of my middle fingers.
haha thats where my calluses are too!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif
Mine too!!! Thats where awesome people get calluses. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif I never got them until I started using my gold titanium X pole. I also never remember getting pole burn from a brass pole, but I did when I started using my Xpole. I find it odd though because my xpole is slicker then a brass.
