Nope. I never borrowed any of them. For some reason I thought Corey had it? Could be wrong.

When you say completely extended do you mean over-extended? Are you engaging. Most women hyper extend when extending also it is damn near imposible to lift with the arms straight without a little bend. You can also injure yourself by not engaging. Think shoulders up to ears and roll them back and down. Keep them there. You are no engaged :-p.

HellonHeelsNH…I am not trying to upset anyone by saying this but stripping competition and pole competition are two completely different elements. If she wants to be taken seriously in the pole world (plans to compete) it would be hard if she competed in stripping/exotic dance competitions.

I am really confused how being a stripper or ex strippers gives one an advantage?  It is not like you are trained to be an exotic dancer and what a majority do is wrong anyways. They have to relearn from ground zero when they take classes. I would pose this question to the instructor. It does not seem fair or logic based and it is discriminates, after all pole dancing is composed of women who are supposed to be accepting of sexuality and their bodies. The only reasoning I can think of is they think someone will have an edge.

I had a rather odd split journey. I was inflexible child. I could hardly touch my knees up until College. I started doing yoga a couple times a month my freshmen year and could touch the ground. Sometime around my sophomore year I started dancing. I did not stretch I did not work towards splits. I kept trying to do them in my sets and one day I was flat. I know this is not the norm at all, but I think a lot can be said about just being warm and working it in those movements. I have also heard one yogi say she stayed flexible because "she never bent her knees to put on her underwear" it is such a minor thing but it could make a HUGE difference.

I may have to actually participate. I think Black Velvet is a bit over done. If you need inspiration hit your favorite stripclub :-p.

It seems like a bunch of people have already addressed the subject of your calorie intake being WAY to low so I will not go into that. I also saw posture was addressed. However, I listened to a pretty decent podcast about bio-hacking and hormones. http://www.fatburningman.com/dr-sara-gottfried-hormones-for-men/. It briefly addresses the issue of working out to much and to hard and how it can actually raise your cortisole levels. Maybe you have a bit of that going on also. I would also suggest NOT dieting make healthy changes. Dieting messes with your metabolism like crazy and it can take your body a while to recover. I hope this helps and I am not repeating anyone. Eventually I will read through all of the posts.

To just be able to pole again. My first day back on the pole in over a year was yesterday. It was pretty humbling. My injury made it impossible for me to lift or do body weight in my time away from the pole. Ugh.

I now live in Pittsburgh and the pole "community" here is a bit underwhelming. My name is Jessie and I am going to try to fix that :-p.
