Hmmm, wonder if I can convince my hubby to buy a pole and a laptop?
-
Would it be okay to say what night these girls are going out to SIN?
I wouldn’t mind lurking about the crowd and checking things out (if I could find a sitter).
I would love to have a permanent pole, but my only open area is smack dab in the middle of the living room. My hubby wouldn’t be thrilled with a pole blocking his history channel and ESPN viewing (not to mention the kids with their cartoons).
Hah, great mommy minds must think alike – I love the 2 year age gap, although when my last turned 2 and there wasn’t a bun in the oven, it was a heartbreaker. ***Sigh*** So, hubby got snipped, and I got boobs, guess that isn’t such a bum deal.

You all have me feeling so inspired – I can’t wait!!!! I feel like a little kid waiting for Christmas, about to pee myself in anticipation . . . okay . . . no peeing, but really frickin’ excited.

Thanks Tigger! Us moms seem to need that time so badly, and we sure do deserve it. I can’t wait!!

I actually checked those pictures out during my lurking https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif
It really is a shame Hottie’s didn’t just spend a few extra bones to put up real poles because the bar is actually pretty nice. The poles (3) each have their own stage and seating all the way around so when you hop off to relax and take breather, you don’t have to go far. Since your seated in your little area, it "holds" your pole so that no one else can come snatch it up LOL I was able to flip upside down and stuff, so maybe they aren’t half bad, but I don’t know for certain if they are the real thing. They are silver metal, but more of a flat, flag polish finish and seem a bit wider than a traditional pole would be. With some mighty drip and vinyl boots, they may be workable.
If you venture out that way to play, please let me know. I’d love to come see some cool stuff in person.
I was kinda excited to check out Slam Jam’s, but if it’s just that one pole and it’s all yucky, I dunno how much I would be able to make of it.
I’m thinking of dragging my mom and sisters along with me to a class so I won’t feel so intimidated. Knowing that Be is a smaller studio actually makes it that much more appealing to me – not lots of people to laugh at me : )
C’mon paycheck – I want my pole!

Oh yay – a fellow Ohioian, and your fairly close to boot!
I’m embarrassed to admit this, but the bar was Hottie’s in Parma. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_redface.gif
I don’t even know that I would add them – I don’t think they are real poles, I think they are flag poles https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif Then again, I’m no expert, but I don’t think they are the real thing. It is unfortunate, because there are three of them, on nicely raised stages. If they were real it would be an incredible place for pole dancers to go and play.
The bar used to be the $hit, but has gone way downhill after someone got ran over in the parking lot – the police presence was increased and killed off the business. The bartender did mention that they still get an okay sized crowd and that those who do come go straight to the poles and that is the main reason that anyone still comes in the bar. I’m guessing they are exotic dancers practicing.
I had heard that Slam Jam’s has them also – I have to check out your pictures!
I’m still not quite sure about classes – I’m not crazy about group stuff (a bit of anxiety). An old friend of mine was teaching there some time back, Alicia (aka Barbie Doll). Wonder if she is still there – I may feel more comfy if there is someone there I know.
Thanks for hello, hope to learn great stuff and maybe one day I will be of a high enough skill level that we can go have a pole night somewhere : )

Okay, I am seriously impressed, and a little intimidated LOL
I watched your clips from your first and third day, and your already doing cool stuff, and awfully flexible too!
Did you do a dance studio class before hand, or is this literally like – I got a pole and on day one this is what I can do?
I thought about taking a class, but I am not a class kind of person, don’t like large groups. I have a touch of anxiety.
I have noticed myself watching my posture lately as a side effect to watching all these videos LOL I not longer just hunch over to pick up toys off the floor, I purposely keep my legs straight, tuck my belly, try to keep back back straight also and extend myself down LOL Does that make me a dork?

OMG, love those videos!! The guys are incredible. I thought the skin friction is what stopped you. The kid with the long hair looks like my 8 year old – he’s got long hair and wears "wife beaters" like they are going out of style LOL I’ll have to show them those videos, they will LOVE them. I had showed them a few of the athletic ones so they could get an idea of why there would be a pole (although it will only be up during the day while I practice, I didn’t want it to seem like some hidden, secretive, bad thing). They were in awe. They are going to eat that one up.
That drop that Jenyne does has gotta frickin’ hurt like hell, but it sure is beautiful.
So badass, thanks for sharing those! Wow. I’ll be happy if I can just pull of a few spins and inverts!

Ahhh, thank you much. I just love to see those, they are so visually stunning, especially when they place them so perfectly within the music.
Thanks also for the heads up on the Wikipole, I will have to peruse my way over to that and see what I can learn.

I don’t have high ceilings, just your standard 8 ft.
Am I understanding correctly that the Lil Mynx requires bolting into the studs (with a handy plant hook for when you want to be incognito) and the X Pole is tension mount on the stud point?
and also
regardless of the mount, they are both equally superior in stability?
Also, if the X Pole is just tension mount, has anyone had any problems with weak or broken ceilings? Our house is from the 50’s and I know the drywall is thinner than your standard drywall – I’m starting to wonder if the ceiling would pose an issue in holding the strength in tension?
Excuse my thinking out loud, just trying to make certain I pick the right pole : )

Guess there weren’t as many as I thought, one is at 1:57 and I think it is Sarah Cretul. The second is 2:42 and that was Jenye. I tend to like the visual appeal of the earlier one to the crunched body positioning of the second.
Ya know, I think death LAY was what I had searched for earlier on. Duh, go figure it is called a death DROP! Feeling really stupid here, thanks for helping me out.

I’m still not sure I understand – do you just need a helper for the main installation or every time you put in up?
I really love the expert too. I like the option for stationary or spinny mode – seems like it gives you more variation if you get bored or frustrated with something, you have a whole other realm of options. Besides that, it seems to be the most recommended.
Hmmm? Decisions, decisions.
