I had the same problem with the screws of a X-Joint and wanted to buy new ones. I showed them to my dad who owns a garage and to a friend who is a tool expert and no one had ever seen those screws or knew where to get them.
I wrote an e-mail to Stacey from X-Pole UK about my problem and she directly sent me a completely new X-Joint free of charge.

I have the X-Sport as well and you are right, you can flip it around an have the adjuster at the top. I only used it for 2 weeks "bottom loading", but then I hurt my toe on the adjuster rod with blood running down the pole, so I flipped it around. The instructions say that you can use it either way, so there's no problem. I definitly prefer the "top loading" way for my Sport.
