Eeek…your post reminds me to check my pole tonight when I get home!!
I also have a 45mm XPert, I didn't have any issue with installation but one section of the pole I received was defected (it has tiny dents on the side where it cut my hands) I called up XPole US, took some pictures, send it to them and they send me a new one.
My bf bought me my pole early June…I put it up mid-June and I haven't checked it since then. I hope hope hope the joints are holding up. I live in a tiny apt where I have limited space and can only use a pole that doesn't require drilling, I didn't have any other choice other than XPole…
@Butterflies – I hope XPole can your issue!! Keep us posted!! ^_^

Any one have the Mika Kila Top?? It looks really sexy with support. Since I'm only a 34B, I want to find something that shows some curve yet my "girls" won't fall out during a dance…lol
PoleFit looks nice, especially the new V Front dance top, but even with the lower neckline, I'm not sure if it'll look flattering on girls that have smaller chest?
Also, any one have the PoleFit Brazil shorts? I was about to order then I got hestiate again on the size…S or XS?? I have a perky 33" butt.

@jkpolegirl – I bought my foot undeez from Amazon for $15 w/ free shipping. You can also buy them through discountdance.com but they charge like $3-4 for shipping. More information – street shoes I wear 7 sometimes 7.5, and my foot undeez is size small.

I actually bought a bottle of iTac spray from Theo (thanks again!! ~hugs~)…and it works like a charm…
I use Tite Grip, iTac2 level 3 and sometimes Mighty Grip so there are a lot of "gunk" on my pole…after each pole session it takes me forever to clean my pole with alcohol…it is especially hard to get the iTac2 off (I have an xpole chrome btw). With the iTac spray, it comes of sooooo easily. And after you clean the pole, wait until its total dry before trying to get on the pole or it'll feel reeeeally slippery. I'm not sure if it improves my grip (I have really sweaty hand…this reminds me to e-mail Peter for a level 4 sample…lol) but it's definitely the best cleaner I've tried so far.

MemberJuly 17, 2011 at 8:47 am in reply to: Anyone have a permanent bangle? How do I protect pole?I worn a silver bracelet that my bf bought me for our first anniversary. Its always a pain in the butt to take it off and a pain to put it on. So now I wear one of those wrist sweat band to prevent my bracelet scratching my pole and vice versa.
I think a sweat band can prevent your bangle from scratching/hitting your pole but I would think it’s a little too bulky and uncomfortable to wear it for poling. But, you can always give it a shot before giving up ^_^

I slipped off my pole last night when I was doing a thigh rest….I used Tite Grip then iTac2.
I thought I had a good grip, when I extend my legs, I suddenly fell down. It was a beginner move but it was soooo scary (It was a loud THUG followed by tons of curses…lol I scared my bf too…lol)
I think My hands sweat through the Tite Grip and the iTac2. I only had Tite Grip on for about 20min…I wonder if that has anythin to do with it??
Does anyone have any other recommendation??

@ amy – ME <— Asian over here!!! BUT, I'm one of the weird ones that have double eyelid so never really have an issue with eye makeup (Yes, I got my Mommy's pretty eyes and she got hers from GrandMa…LOL)
I'm huge on makeup, especially nauturally looking makeup, I tried A LOT of them out there, and I have to say, majority of the really good ones are brand name (Try D.J.V masaca and you'll NEVER go back to drugstore brand mascara…And La Mer foundation is just like 2nd skin…) …BUT, here are a few that I think they are a steeeeal!!
1) Physicians Forumla – Eye Booster eyeliner.
o I'm not sure if my eyelashes grow longer…but this eyeliner is THE MOST precise eyeliner I've ever had…It even beat MAC, Bobbi Brown and Chanel. Also, it is VERY pigmented.
2) Physicians Forumla – Stripes Blushes / Highlighter
o They color are soooo beautiful!! You can use them as a bronzer, highligher or just a blush. It has all day staying power.
3) NYX – eyeshadows
o I LOOOOOVE their eyeshadow!! In general, I'm a slave of Urban Decay, but they get pricey. NYX eyeshadow is compareable to MAC. I kid you not. They are just as pigmented but 1/10th the price. BUT, I would recommend using a eyeshadow primer with their eyeshadow so it will truly last all day.
4) NYX – cream blush
o If you have super dry skin, try NYX cream blush. The texture us creamy, last all day and look very natural.
5) Mayballine – gel eyeliner (in a pot)
o I found this gem in CVS on sale for $9. It has AMAZING staying power….I wore this to my 90min HOT YOGA class. But the end of the class NO SMUDGE whatsoever. It last!!! Originally I really wanted to get Bobbi Brown gel eyeliner but for $22 a pot and reviews aren't that great…eh. I'm glad I found a cheaper alternative.
6) Sigma – makeup brushes
o These brushes are compareable to MAC brushes. They are soooo soft and precise…I bought the professional brush set and I have to say…I won't be buying any brushes in another 10 years…LOL
7) St Ives – face/body scrub
o This is the best face/body scrub I've ever used. For $3 you get a HUGE tube that last forever. Your face and body wil feel soooooooo smooth and clean afterward. (Tips. GENTLY scrub on your face…don't need to apply tons of pressure or it'll feel too rough on face)
8) NYX – nail polish
o Their nail polish are truly high quality…I tried a lot of brand and they all end up peeling or chipping after a few days. But NYX nail polish really last..I mean weeks at a time…no chipping, no peeling and quick drying.
——————————Hope this helps ^_^

You guys are awesome~~ I was down in NYC for the long weekend and didn't have any internet connection. When I came back there's a long list of respond…lol
I think I'll take up some of the suggestions….I'm going to increase reps and lower weight plus cut down on carbs (gosh…I LOVE rice!!)…I'm not sure if I can cut down on my ice-cream intake but for pole…I'll give it a shot…lol
@ Veena – I don't mind nice tone muscle…just not bulkiness of fat!! (Oh…I have small boobs too..https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
@EvaRut – I normally only stretch on days where I don't pole…but I think I'll incorporate 10-15 min of stretching from now on https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif
-
Well, when I said bulky I mean more like "chunky", not really muscle with nice cut…. If I do a lot of strength training I can feel myself getting stronger but not slim (unless I starve myself). I really want to be able to get tone muscle and getting strong at the same time.
PS. I'm not "fat".. 5'4, 115lbs…just not toned and slim.

MemberJuly 1, 2011 at 11:32 am in reply to: Strength training for pole that has worked wonders for me!The Pole Strength Training is definitely a gem!! I started this routine last week and I can actually feel myself getting stronger!! Well, not to the point where I can do a SM but definitely improving ^_^
But with the leg lift…I'm STILL hitting my side rib cage…argh… If I take a video of myself, where can I post it so I can get some feedback?? I desparately need help w/ plank too (I can do one side and not the other) and the leg lift (the one where prep you for the invert) I think my hold is funny…but I can't tell =/

MemberJune 29, 2011 at 11:37 am in reply to: Bought my X-Pert today!!! Countdown 3 weeks!!!!!Ok, I know I mentioned this in another post…but just in case you didn't see it…Get a tube of anti-seize lubricant, apply it to the thread and x-joints before you put your pole together.
This will guarantee the joints won't get stuck when you want to take them apart later on down the road….
Here's a link where you can get it on Amazon:
Happy Poling!! ^_^
-
I recently bought an XPole. Prior to my purchase I read that a lot of people have the issue of the x-joint getting stuck. So, I bought the Permatex Anti-Seize Lubricant and applied it onto the thread before putting the x-joint together, it works like a charm. I put on the wrong extension on and I had to undo the whole process….the x-joint just slip right out.
About the bending issue….My current ceiling height is only 8' so it's working fine but I plan on moving soon and the new place ceiling will be about 11-12'…I wonder if my pole will hold?? Or should I get an XPole permanent mount??
PS. If any want to the Anti-Seize Lubricant, here's the link to Amazon:

Forgot to mention…I personally don’t think there’s a huge different on the material once you are fully warm up (why would you get on a pole when you’re not warm up anyway…)
I started in brass 50mm and I now have a chrome 45mm. Once I’m done with Veena strength training (thats my warm up routine)…my chrome feels very similar to the brass. The only “slippery” point of contact is probably my thigh…
Anyway…final word, good to get a combination or size and materials…but I think size has more impact then material.
-
In my previous studio they had all 50mm brass…
Being a newbie, having a good grip is important. I would love to go to a studio where they have 45mm and move us to 50mm once we become stronger and more confident.
How many students do you plan on having per class? All advance, all newbie or mix? That might be a deciding factor. Just my opinion… ^_^

Thanks Kat Pole…I’d been buying from Amazon, I’m going to check out drugstore.com today =)

I second on the CeraVe lotion!! I tried a sample of it and it works wonder. I recently purchased the CeraVe PM lotion for my face and so far so good.
A bit on the pricy side (like $15 for a 3oz) but so worth it!! It justabsord into your skin and you’ll feel smooth instantly…non geasy at all.

My body sore from yesterday practice!! Feels GOOD!!
I’m going to video my progress as soon as I get some mirrors from Ikea..!!
@ horsecrazy – I’m soooo excited and spoiled!! I don’t think I can go back to 50mm tree trunk anymore…LOL
-
Thanks Theo!!! I REALLY look forward to use it on my chrome pole!!! ^_^
-
Actually…I read that it happened to quite a few people with long hair…One even had her bf grab a pair of scissors to cut off Thr part that was stuck!
I have really long hair…and I’ve only learned on spinny. I guess I’ll have to remember to put it up in a bun before I do any serious inversion!
-
FONJI!!!!
I saw Charley FB where she was doing this move…sooooo awesome!!!
-
Ok, this is not pole move or training…rather, videos to show “how to spot” or “how spotter help poler to break a fall”
I realized it’s always exciting to learn pole moves and such…but when I want to ask my bf to help me spot, he has no clue where to begin!!
And to tell you the truth, other then saying “You got me right?? You sure?? Don’t let me break my neck or crack my head…You sure you got me now???” I have no idea what to tell him…LOL

Good news!! The building inspector said there's no major structual damage to my apartment so as soon as the power is back up, we can move back in! Yeah!!
As to my cars…one of the cars is already totaled. I actually gave the insurnace my title today and they cut me a check…I guess I'll be using those money to pay for the deductible for my other car is it's fixable (currently t's 50/50…on the verge of totaled). My bf's Mustang is still an unknown.
Sooo…as soon as I can move back to my apartment, I can install my 45mm XPole!! Yeah! ^_^
@ horsecrazy – I went to New Orleans after Katrina, it was very creepy. Currently my apartment complex looks just as ominous…scary. But, there was no major injury…so, thanks God!
@ tarah – I actually did felt "something" was coming. I'd been putting off on packing a survival kit for years…then a couple of weeks ago I felt something like a hunch…I just NEED to get my act together and prep for something. God was definitely watching over us and I'm very thankful!! ^_^
THANK YOU EVERYONE!! As soon as I have my pole up (and get some mirrors) I'll post some practice videos here on Veena!! ^_^
~~~~~BIG BIG HUGS~~~~~
