I used to pole dance”strip” years ago..and when I got on stage was able to loose myself in another world even tho I was being watched by many people..I am a sensual dancer,I like to feel the music, and I love the way the music makes my body move to it..I miss it..so anytime I see I pole,I use it..but it has been along time,so I am finally getting one for my house!!! It is a very empowering feeling that the pole gives a woman, even the shyest..I love the female body, the curves, the way a woman moves..it is a piece of art and I love to watch myself in the mirror dance,as well as other women dance…it makes me sad to hear woman down the art of pole, they don’t understand, they downgrade it..it is an expression,a form of dance..yes it is done in strip clubs and can be raunchy, but so can anything, even eating the healthiest food can turn into something raunchy..well,I am getting off topic..I just love to pole dance because I can express my sensuality and sexuality and be myself…it is a challenging thing to learn also, which I love..so do it because you love it!!! That is what matters…

You do take them out to empty them and wash and after that time u wash and boil for a few minutes to sanitize and put in a clean bag…I have been using for yrs with no problems….there are several brands out there..I just happen to use the divacup..
-
It is what they used to use many years ago before tampons were around…so it has been around for centuries…it looks like a cup made out of latex..u don’t feel it..look it up..u fold it in half and insert just like a tampon and it will open to create suction so it doesn’t come out and no leaks….
-
You can get them offline..or at natural food/health stores..but I got mine from vitacost.com….I absolutely love it..they are abt $25-30 depending on where you buy it from and replace it abt every 12 months …you can go longer as long as you take care of it and make sure it has no holes…it comes with instructions and will tell you..but it is still cheaper than tampons even if u do replace it every 12 months..they sell soap for it and you boil it after that time to sterilize it…it is great…def worth giving a try…go to divacup.com

I personally love brass…altho that is all I know…lol..I did try the chrome xpole and twisted the crap out of the skin on the inside of my arm trying to spin..I don’t know if I overcompansated my grip, but my skin never burned like that on brass, even when I first started dancing..it was like I had a pole burn that is now a bruise..I did bruise that day,but did have a red looking burn as well..let me know how u like it..as well as the cover on the bottom..I do slide a lot all the way down to transition into floorwork and was wondering if that was going to get in the way of my hands sliding..

MemberNovember 15, 2011 at 5:31 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages Permanent Spinning PolesOh..I am excited for you…I just measured my ceilings…same in the garage and bedroom and 6″ higher on the one level in bedroom, but I don’t think I will need to use that level..plus the pole has 6″ of adjustment….so I may be able to get the one piece..which is awesome cause I want real brass and its a good price..
-
Well I just measured my garage..8’6″ and my bedroom is 8’6″ and 9′,I have a tray ceiling…and the one piece has 6 inches of extension….winner, winner, chicken dinner..I just went back in and pretended to spin with legs extended, not that I plan on doing many tricks, just not the room to do it..it just may work ceiling as far as the ceiling goes….it certainly would save me $100 to get the one piece…
-
@ pegasusaerialfitness..thanks..I think I am going to wind up going with PS brass..just haven’t decided on a one piece or multi…I want a one piece just because it just makes me feel safer, but I like the idea of being able to move it to my room where the ceilings are higher..I do have to measure,to see if I may be able to get away with a one piece,I don’t have the room in the bedroom for a lot ot aerial tricks,so I have to really measure and look…plus the one piece is cheaper and I want to buy a ceiling mount..what poles do you own?

MemberNovember 15, 2011 at 3:34 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages Permanent Spinning Poles@ tarah, ? Is the cover on the bottom of the pole smooth? I mean, do your legs/hands glide over it or do you have to stop ur move before the cover? I am looking @ this pole and was wondering if that gets in the way ..I wanted a one piece for the flow of the pole and didn’t know if that affected it any…I tend to slide all the way down and use the bottom with my hands for floor work and want the transition to look good and not get stuck above the cover..lol..not too sexy…

I use a menstrual cup…it is called Diva Cup…LOVE it!!! Can not say how much I love it….you will never use tampons ever again….saves money and easier to use, safer, also less leaks if any…I haven’t had any and been using for years….worth trying it..

MemberNovember 15, 2011 at 12:46 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages Permanent Spinning PolesI am thinking of getting the xtreme one piece brass but 2″(50mm)..you will love brass..or I love brass over chrome, haven’t tried ss yet or 1.75..also getting the ceiling adaptor for added security..please let us know how you like it…it will be a few weeks before I order,so I will be looking for your comments…but I can’t wait..and good to know u can switch out the diameters in same ceiling adaptor, altho it will be awhile before I can get 2 pole…gotta work on my first..lol…enjoy ur pole..I know you will…

I have looked @ lil mynx too..I am going to try the poles that I think(gonna talk to the owner to make sure of the brand cause I heard that they may not be x pole TG),you would think employees would know what kind of poles they are working with..she did say a few things that didn’t make sense..and go try a brass pole again and x-pole chrome as well…it will be a few weeks before I order, bummer, but I want to make the right choice…it is pretty much between x-pole TG and PS brass…plus I want a ceiling mount and those 2 companies have good mounts

@platinumstages-hey,I just got off the phone with one of ur girls…she was very helpful..that is why I don’t understand why there are some negative comments on here abt customer service..

I want a 50mm stationary..I talked with Pole Danzer this morning…I just wish the pole didn’t have the platform..I looked @ action, they are more expensive and shipping is more, but if it is what I want..I can’t pull up the other site…and I heard bad things abt platinum stages customer service..altho I have talked with them, and have to say, they are pretty nice there..I do want a pole that I can mount to the ceiling but remove it…I just feel safer..the whole tension thing scares me,no matter how many people say it is safe..

I don’t believe I have an allergy…just bruising…I have bruising on my legs as well, which I have gooten before when I first started pole dancing and when I stopped and went back..just never had pinched my skin like that on my arm..I didn’t glide the way I did on tha brass..that is why is weird to hear that brass is grippier..maybe I am just used to brass..I just can’t wait to find a pole and have one @ home..getting anxious and jealous of everyone on here..lol
-
its weird because I never found brass being grippy..I mean, it was when I needed it to be,but was able to spin and manuever great on it..my arm is so bruised from the chrome pole..I don’t know if I was overcompisating my holds, but a few times my skin was getting pinched and I vever had that happen on brass..it is just weird how different people react to differnt poles..but yes I am very glad I get to try it before I spend the money..hopefully it will work,if not, back to square one..

@ polefitmom, I just found out that a studio in my town has titanium gold poles from x pole…so I am going to go try them out in the next couple of weeks…I have to take an intro class to learn how to hold the pole and they only teach that class twice a week, and my kids have off school next Monday and the other day is sat, and I have a family thing…bummer,so it will be 2 weeks..but I am stoked to know I can try the pole before I buy it..I hope it is like the brass..and x pole has brass, but only in 45mm,which stinks…but it is much more expensive too and a brushed brass not polished…
-
Save your money…..that is your only option..if you want a good pole, they are not cheap, but is an investment and a good one..and make sure you get the one you want, size 45mm or 50mm and finish chrome or brass/titanium gold…due your research..that is what I am doing now..I have only worked with brass, and used a chrome pole the other day,but didn’t really like it,so am kind of at square one..so glad I didn’t buy one yet..now I have to go to this other studio in town that has brass(so they claim, because the company does not sell brass poles in the us) and try them to see if I like them and see exactly what poles they are..honestly,you are prob better off buying from the company that way if something goes wrong, you have a reciept and a warranty..and you are not going to save much money buying off craigslist or ebay and you never know if something is wrong with the pole…just save ur pennies and wait..I know it sucks to hear, I am having to save too and wait, but you will be glad when you have that shiny pole that doesn’t fall down…
-
Maybe I will have to go try a brass pole again….it has been awhile since I used one…I just still think I am going to like the feel of it better than the chrome..it has a softer feel…I am just afraid to spend this kind of money to not like the pole..I know I like brass, but I guess that is because that is all I know..
