Why oh why as women do we get completely wrapped up in our relationships? (HEY.. preachin to the choir here – and I'M the WORST – but trying to 'Reform") https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_heart1.gif
My BF and I have been thru so many breakups it's crazy – aparently some ppl just can't live w/o each other.. but that is my point:
I am making SURE from now on, that I have MY life – separate – on my own- so IF the breakup happens again.. I'm READY.
I'm not going to tell you to be brave when you want to crawl in a hole and die – eat the bucket of ice cream; watch the sad romance movies – give yourself a time to grieve – it's OKAAAYYYY!!!
Just get out there as soon as you can so you can 'practice' being out, hearing the song on the radio that makes you suddenly and uncontrollably burt into tears…. It's all OKAYYY!!
It just takes some time. Get on a dating website to cheer yourself up. Yeah, they'll probably all make you sick cause they're not HIM, but at least the attention will distract you and lift your spirits. 🙁 :):)
I Reeeeeaaaallly hope things work out for you and I think it's great you HAVE a hobby you love. Why not crank up the video, like she said? Make us a video of the "Heart Broken Poler". I bet it will be BEAUTIFUL. Hang in there, sweetie. *hug*

OMG – sending you SUPPORT energy!! :):)
I smoked from age 15 to 27 (said I'd quit when pregnant so did at 8 1/2 mos. lol) THEN — stupid me.. started again 27 years LATER! DUH… but.. after two years, decided it was time to move on and last August dedicated a week to hangin on the couch, computer and tv (and frige!! LOL) and quit again.
Hang in there! Be as bitchy as you like! It will get better.
( ALSO.. EXPECT the 'habitual' part to last a year. Not as severe, but you will still have effected mental behaviors related to the HABitS. Definitly controllable, but just be aware. )
Just revel in quitting – you'll make it. A week from now will feel like a different world! AND you'll smell a lot better!! lol :):)

I am 57 years old and was a massage therapist and I have to say, I was SHOCKED at some of the feet I saw particularly on women! SO.. here's my 'cure' for you:
1.) Take Baths instead of showers; or, at least soak your feet once or twice a week.
2.) wear SOCKS – that's right – Men hardly have this problem – guess why?!
3.) Go barefoot as little as possible and when you DO or wear sandles – Make SURE you make up for it with a little special treatment (1 or 2) the next day or as soon as you SEE trouble. The idea is to 'stay on it' before things get crazy. Like overweight – a couple of lbs. is easier to deal with! 😉
4) It doesn't hurt to weekly mix SUGAR and Oilive Oil (just enough to liquify the dime size sugar in your hand) as an exfoliant on feet (or Face, for that matter). It is a natural gllycolic peel. 🙂 ONLY ONCE A weeK, tho!!
5.) Keep the pumice and metal scraper handy near the tub. Use the pumice more than the scraper, because it is smoother and does less 'damage'. (Scraper I'm calling the little cheese grater metal tool for same – use it once a week, maybe – pumice as you will)
6) IF you just HAVE to put stuff on your feet, (or anywhere else rough) just use baby oil or mineral oil AFTER a bathor soak, While Still Wet/Damp. Oil will hold in water/moisture to make it more effective and 'soak in'.
7) Slather up your feet after all that and wear socks to bed if you want to, or around the house while 'moisturizing' as in #6.
I just HATE seeing my feet get even slightly gross and have always done these things, so it's best to jump on the band wagon ASAP when you see trouble. 😉 I have always gotten compliments on the rare pedicures I get about how nice my feet are. (yeah.. I can imagine after what I saw as just a therapist! Those poor ppl work with feet 24/7!! lol:)
Hope this helps! I know it will, tho *grin*

Hi… Ex Dallas and Houston dweller here.. now in Waco 🙁 (like the traffic, tho! lol)
SO… Um… I am centrally located… Have a HUGE living room ( at least a 4 pole if y'all bring 'em)..
I'm new hereand to poling, but would be more than willing to host a POLE JAM. Also have empty bedrooms, too. So???
Shall we set a date? (Check out my house -it's before and after pics- at: http://s54.photobucket.com/albums/g115/healers-hearth/Purple%20Palace/?albumview=slideshow

I guess I could blame my interest on the garage sale across the street where I bought a pole for $5 – but truthfully, my interest goes way back, I guess. In the early '70s I danced for a few weeks at a friend's club – no poles back then, laughed all the way to the bank, but just hated the environment.
I stupidly confessed this story to my teenage daughter, and eventually SHE became the girl on the pole 🙁 -which combined with her mental illness, has pretty much ruined her life.. BUT she was quite an athlete. She once poled down a square rusty Martin birdhouse pole in our front acreage totally skinning up her legs! But it looked GREAT!
So, now back to me…. For me, this attempt birthed at the garage sale was a joke… just a desire to do a 'pole dance' for the boyfriend. But now, it's something quite different. I don't know what I was thinking – You know.. I figured I'd do a couple dances and wa la – magically be on the pole. HA!
It has become, most likely, the challenge of my lifetime. I have in recent years overcome degenerative disc, carpal tunel, Realllllly bad Knee (actually left hospital to avoid surgery of replacement!), Fibromyalgia, AND getting rid of 55 lbs. I have never been a 'jock'.. never really been in good, worked out, 'ripped' shape. Now is the time. (and yes… I actually have and use a mobility scooter for big walking trips like the mall or flea market! LOL)
I have learned so much about diet and health (ex-massage therapist) due to personal interest and education over several decades. This is just the most likely place to go after becoming so much 'better' due to the weight loss, and better diet.
I may be closer to death then ever before.. (age.. lol) but I'm "goin' out with a bang"!!
After my first week, and blowing my muscles out really bad by doing the wrong exercises (oops) I actually DO feel better, even this early into it. Squats are not as deep as a normal persons, but I don't have to hold the rail going up my three steps to the kitchen, already! And that.. means the world to me. ( I'm planning on the muscle building around my knee making a huge difference by supporting it better.)
I'm gonna make it.. and I'm glad to have found this site and all of you! 🙂

I'm crawing around the house, 'gingerly' .. lol. I also think since I over taxed so many muscles, the water rushing to them for 'rescue' caused me to gain a lb. or two…. grrrr.
-
Yay.. just finished stretches… I feel better. C'mon Monday. ::)

MemberMarch 25, 2011 at 11:06 am in reply to: I have NO waist… Anything I can do about it?I know this won't help much with your poling/dancing.. but in your 'waking life' there are a lot of 'fashion tricks' to Appear more hourglass shaped. And then, of course there are all the padded items, bras, booty, etc.
Wear dark on top, light on bottom, horiontal stripes on bottom, etc. Solid color top w/print bottom… Anything to appear 'wider' on the bottom. I'm sure there are whole websites devoted to it.
As for me.. I have been 'blessed'. J-Lo got nothin' on the women in my family. 😉 But like Runemist said.. fitting is a curse. Lots of wardrobe tricks for us too! :):) However.. I'm still wondering how I'm gonna hoist this big A** o' mine up that POLE!! lol

MemberMarch 24, 2011 at 4:35 pm in reply to: Shoes and how to keep your toes in your shoes?I have had that issue all my life and didn't even WEAR sandels til a few years back. okay decades, now…. anyway..
I have a very high instep and wide front sole. My 'cure' for the problem was to not buy shoes that didn't allow for my toes to stay INSIDE. if they're real pointy at then end.. there's no where else for your toes to go. Look for a wider tip cause it makes all the difference.
Sometimes just the way it's made (where the upper part connects to sole) can also make a difference. Just gotta try 'em on, I guess!
It may cost a bit more and be harder to find locally, but ME.. if I can't get my hands on something that matters, I don't buy online. 🙁 I'll drive 100 miles if I have to!

Thanks for all the Welcoming remarks, ladies.
I guess what I was trying to say earlier: When I get this thing done to the point I have in my mind's eye – I'll be… and Athlete! A Friggin Athlete!!
Soooo many of you guys.. that's what YOU are – Athletes!! (Somehow I never saw it that way, 'cept for daughter who is actually 'the jock' of the family – both her brothers are scrawney, pale, nerd guys. 😉

BET… bet the temple's booty.. (duh, me typo)
-
Oh… you can also be the Temple's Booty (hee hee) that centrai Texas wouldn't be that liberal. (How I miss my ex homes in Houston/ Dallas/Austin) :(:(
-
Well all I can say is "Oh Lord". My second statement whie the page was loading was "hmm… wonder if this is in Texas".. and then I saw it. LOL
Spring is an awesome place. Close enough to Houston to be fun and unstuffy, but rural enough to be pleasant and charming.

Awesome video… totally inspiring. Thanks!
You know what's crazy? At this point… I just want to do this because it's actually gonna be one of the hardest things I've ever expected of myself; and I know when I get there I'm going to be extrmely proud of myself – not to mention stronger and healthier than I've ever been.
It's like.. the One thing I've never accomplished (besides friggin algebra! LOL) – Being in really good shape and physically Strong. I can just see it when I watch videos like this. (And 'feel' it sitting here with my first sore muscles. :):)
