MemberDecember 29, 2011 at 10:54 pm in reply to: Why is Studio Veena Bias towards X-Pole?It wasnt a product review. I showed what the "EZ CONNECT" actually was and how it gets assembled. I also demonstrated how to make it go into spin mode. People always want to see what the newest poles are, what they look like, how they work, etc.

MemberDecember 29, 2011 at 10:37 pm in reply to: Why is Studio Veena Bias towards X-Pole?I agree with Payton that the site is somewhat biased towards xpole. When i posted a video of me using the new EZ connect Star Stand Alone it was pulled immediately from the website. I posted a thread on it, and it was pushed to the bottom within 5 minutes. I dont really think thats fair considering i paid to be a member of this site.
I saw the other thread about the 40mm xpole, and Erica from Platinum Stages has been nothing but respectful and actually sweet on this forum. Im not sure why people were being rude with her, and why she wasnt able to defend herself. Certain things need defending. People on this forum were constantly bad mouthing the SSA….yes in the past it may have been crap, but i know the new one isnt. People also said how it falls over. I put it to the test and ran at it full speed, and the pieces popped up a lil, but the thing is sturdy. It most certainly didnt fall over. U can watch the video on my profile. I felt the need to do the video because a couple of my friends on here were scared to use it after all that they read on the forum.
At the end of the day, there will always be a difference of opinion. If you like Platinum Stages, great. If you like Xpole, great. If you like Lil Mynx, great.

Joel- Just placed an order for my studio! Cant wait to try the new knee protectors!!! I think they will be a big hit.
40andlovingit- Do what you need to do….when i first started I needed alot more grip aids than i do now. It also depends on the type of pole. I stick much better to stainless steel and brass, so i hardly use grip aids on those. I know how disruptive and frustrating it can be to your workout when u keep slipping! A-N-N-O-Y-I-N-G!! I love the ankle protectors, and im excited to try the knee protectors. Nobody is perfect and we all need a lil help at some point. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I am a big fan of the ankle protectors, but each pair ive had ripped. I still recommend them, but u might need to keep sewing on the tack strips. I got mine about a year ago, so not sure if they are any different now.

Also, go and read the blog on my page. It will help you ALOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have platinum stages stainless steel and brass. I like both of them. I prefer the brass though becuz i get sweaty, so it helps to have that extra stick. Most studios dont have brass though, so i like training on the stainless steel so i dont get too spoiled, haha.

I really like platinum stages brass poles the best. I have 2 permanents at my studio. I really like that i dont have to use grip when im on it!!! It is amazing when u learn advanced moves, cuz u dont have to worry about slipping.
I find that their stainless steel has really great grip as well. I was recently in a competition that used stainless steel Star stand alones, and they were brand new. I was really nervous because i thought it would be slick since it was new, but it actually had the best grip ever. I was really surprised and shocked! I didnt have to use grip on it either. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

MemberNovember 13, 2011 at 8:25 am in reply to: Platinum Stages Permanent Spinning PolesThe weight limit on their poles are 250lb. I believe anything over 10-11ft has to be permanent. U can call and double check. My studio is 12ft, and i had to get all permanents. I know that i wasnt able to get semi permanent for 12 ft.
The studios that i have been to that had the semi permanent all had shorter ceilings, around 10 feet. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_flower.gif

MemberNovember 13, 2011 at 12:38 am in reply to: Platinum Stages Permanent Spinning PolesFrom what u described, that is definitely the type i have used at a few different studios. The bolt stays in the ceiling, and u just take the pole up and down. its really easy!!! ur definitely gonna be happy with it! im jealous! i want a 1.75 brass!!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif

MemberNovember 12, 2011 at 11:48 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages Permanent Spinning PolesIm really not sure, but its not bolted into the floor, and its one piece….all u have to do is screw it into the large bolt that it comes with (that is attached to your beam.) Ive tried them at quite a few studios, and it was good, and really easy to put up and down.

MemberNovember 12, 2011 at 11:40 pm in reply to: Platinum Stages Permanent Spinning PolesYou only need 2 screws for the ceiling mount.
What about the semi permanent pole?

MemberNovember 12, 2011 at 10:36 am in reply to: Platinum Stages Permanent Spinning PolesAlso, i suggest glueing down the bottom base…sometimes when your floor settles, it wont be as tight, so the bottom plate might rotate. Its bolted in so it wont come out, but it might rotate during a spin or something, so just glue it when u bolt it. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
