I actually used my electric kettle to steam clean my pole haha, just have to angle it and be safe as with any steam. It did the trick. I have heard that some use vinegar to clean their poles, does anyone know of any reason that vinegar would not be good to put on a pole or is it safe? 🙂

MemberApril 9, 2013 at 2:12 pm in reply to: You shouldn’t go to strip clubs and heckle the strippersI always find the feeback from other strip clubs so interesting. Where I live, it is illegal for there to be any physical contact between a dancer and a customer. Places get fined and shut down for it. So there are no lap dances or private VIP rooms.
So since the dancer makes money on the stage, I have gotten to see some pretty awesome shows the past few years. Some pole, some dance, one did a fire show which was awesome as hell.

This is great! It can be really hard trying to figure out how to blend moves together in a routine. Wonderful addition!

Migranes 9
Mirena IUD isertion 9 (i don't rate it a 10 as it only hurt for about 2 minutes, but those two minutes SUUUUUUUCKED) totally worth it though!
Gallstones 10+ (only because the attacks would go on for hours till the dr helped)
Gall bladder surgery 6
apendix surgery 7
back tattoo 7
various body pericings 4
Gemini/outside leg hang 2
Scorpio/inside leg hang 4
yogini 5

I'm mostly a home taught poler. Veena's lesson ahve been great for me 🙂 I did attend a studio for a while but found that learning at home was the best option for me. Many of the ladies here have already shared great advice. I find that you have to find a way to push yourself since you wont be getting that from an instructor anymore. Create a poling schedule or set out some goals for what you want to work on in your sessions. Add in some strength trainign or flexibility trianing moves or routines too. Join the friday chats, pole jams or schedule skype pole dates with other polers to help push you.

O man, I love the place I'm in for so many reasons, but the ceiling height is not one of them! I think my ceilings are around 7 feet tall and it kinda sucks. Since i recently moved my pole form my bedroom to what used to be my dining room I think I gained an inch in height lol so I will see if that helps at all. I dream of super tall ceilings one day!

Any idea when this may be availble to Canadians??? 🙂

You guys are all such pros and so inspirational in this busy lifestyle age we live in. I love that everyone finds different ways to incorporate different types of fitness in different ways.
For the past month and a half I adopted a routine of hitting up the gym 2x a week for an hour and half each, I was only poling once a week for a bit but have been trying to bump it back up to 2x a week. I also do intensive stretching once a week. I am aiming to get those centre splits by my birthday damnit!!!

I like both and I love dubstep and pole but with this song I prefered the rock remix. 🙂 But I think it will kick ass either way 🙂

Love this idea!
Starting with some veeners, well you all inspire me in one way or another in many ways and I wish I could mention all of you but that will take too long so are a few.
I love watching Pixie Lou's videos, she's just awesome in pole, dance and her roller skating video was amazingsauce! Her flexy and pole progress just wow me all the time.
Luvlee is another one I love to watch, she's super dedicated in her training and is always so happy, she got that positive energy that really shines through in her dance.
Aerial Amy is amazing in so many ways too! she spread such a positive message about pole and represents female empowerment to me. She is intellegent, strong willed, well spoken and always seems to say what so many of us our feeling in exactly the right words.
For pole stars, my crush is totally Jenyne Butterfly!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waIuhfoTMv8 <–this was one of the first pole videos I saw of what pole dancing can really be, and it is still one of my favourites. I love her lines, her story telling in dance and her grace. She makes pole look absolutly effortless and beautiful. If I ever get the chance, i will jump at taking a workshop with her.
There are so many women and men that I admire in the pole community but those are a few off the top of my head. 🙂

I love this idea! The flexibility in having different versions of the flag makes this more attainable to many! I would love to participate!

I live in northern Canada so I'm poling in the cold weather about 60-70% of the year. If the room is too cold, try getting a sapce heater and put it in the room before hand. Also do like the ladies suggested and do lots of cardio in the room. Your body heat will help wartm up the space and you! I usually climb my pole a few times on each side to help warm the pole up too. 🙂

Bumping this thread to pose some questions, i know it's super early but i'm thinking of starting to save so i can attend pole expo 2013 in september! Any advice from those who attended last year? Feedback on the hotel, where to spend money, free versus pay workshops and anything else? Thanks 🙂
