I JUST got my left split one time, got excited, went to go show my instructor and snapped a hammy. It's going to take me a lonnngggg time to get that back 🙁 even my handstand holds are now pooped! Never never ever push yourself too hard with stretching. Soon as you feel a weird tingle, back right off. You'll very much regret it otherwise!!!

  • By the sounds of things, the amount of money and trouble you'll go to to fix it yourself will probably surpass what you would pay a professional 🙁

My body can barely handle 2 hours at a time (for whatever reason, I have no idea). Ideally I would do an hour an day, but sadly I can't fit that into my schedule. I've tried doing up to 4 hours with workshops or practice or whatever is on at the studio, but my body simply can't take it. That's just how I am so I have to work with it 😛

I know I might be a little different from you, just thought it might be useful to know from a different perspective 🙂 I know there are girls at my studio who can pull off 4 hours a day and can't stay off the pole, which I really admire. My body just can't keep up with that.

I'd love to know this too. I feel like to really get where I want to be I need to spend at least 2 hrs a day training, which unfortunately I just don't realistically have time for. I guess each of us just needs to figure out what works best for us and how badly/quickly we really want to progress, without pushing it of course, and make whatever sacrifices you need to to make it happen!

    Hey ladies,

Just thought I'd add my 2 cents because I loove love love my pleasers, but also had issues with the soles coming apart at the tip of the platform, especially when doing all the sexy things, dragging them along the floor, etc.

One of our instructors in a workshop that commonly causes these types of issues with shoes said that she uses nail glue to stick them back on. I went home and tried it on my favourite pair of pleasers that I couldn't bear to part with because they were flap-happy. Just chuck on some gloves, open the rubber slightly away from the platform where you want the glue, squeeze some of the nail glue in the opening then apply pressure/roll the toe of the platform on the ground (preferably outside in case you get glue dripping) and I promise you the sole will NEVER MOVE AGAIN. No matter how sexy/draggy you want to get. I've now done this to every pair of shoes I own as soon as the sole starts lifting and it's increased the life of my shoes right up until the ankle strap snaps (well over a year).

Nail glue is basically superglue on steroids for keeping acrylic tips on your hands, so you can't go wrong 🙂 get some from any drug store and chuck it in your emergency kit!

    Hope that helps at all!
