I'm glad to hear that it effectively got rid of the frizz and made your hair healthier. Those are the two main things that I wanted it to do. Now I just need to figure out which product to buy since I am going to do it myself at home rather than pay a salon.

I also had that problem recently. I don't understand why they designed the screw holes in the mount to be set out so wide. I emailed X-Pole and they told me to just center the mount on the stud/beam and if at least the middle screw on each side on the mount was screwed into the stud then it would be sturdy enough. So that is how mine is installed and I have used it quite a bit without any problem. Hope that helps.

You should be!I agree that their performance wasn't exactly super impressive but I still think they should have made it to the next round simply because of the uniqueness of the dance style. Also one of the judge's comments were completely inappropriate!

Darn, if I would have known the color coating was going to be so fragile I would have just stuck with clear shoes! Oh well, too late now. I wore em' and scratched em' so i guess they are mine now. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I will just make sure to only buy really cheap clearance priced shoes from now on so that I don't feel so ripped off when they get damaged the first time I use them.
@chem – The neon tape on your boots looked awesome! I will definitely be trying that little trick.

Well thanks to the blow dryer trick I was able to stretch the plastic just a bit and now the shoes fit alright. So I wore them to my blacklight pole class tonight and was heartbroken to see a huge scuff all the way up the back of the heel after class! What the heck?! I only wore them for about 40 min and was doing pretty low impact dancing. I can't even think of anything I could have done to scuff them. Even if I had though shouldn't shoes as expensive as these hold up better?! They were made to dance in so it seems they should be more resistant to wear. Part of the scuff completely took the pink coating off! So sad now!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

@nymph – That is a great idea. Will it stay shaped to the size of my foot once I do it? Also will it damage the plastic at all?
-
@chem – I was actually looking at some of that online last night. The stuff that actually says it glows is pretty pricey but there was some Duck brand tape in neon and I was wondering if it would glow in the blacklight. Do you remember what the brand was that you used? I was also looking into acrylic blacklight neon paint and wondering how well that would work if I painted it on clear shoes……

I just hate that they feel they have to bring religion into it in order to not be judged harshly for doing it. I have my pole right in the middle of my living room and I know I am judged quite harshly for it when my religious in laws come over. In fact I'm sure most people that walk into my house judge me but it's just a piece of exercise equipment to me. So I don't see anything inappropriate about it being out there for everyone to see. If all those judgemental people only knew what fun exercise they were missing out on!!

As far as I know you defintely should have received a bottle.

I use a squirt about the size of a pencil eraser right in the middle of my palm and then work it into my palm first and then work it out to my fingers. Also I always thoroughly wash my hands first and I try to put it on 2 hours before I pole if possible. Then about 15 min before I pole I apply it a second time. I hope this detailed explanation helps it work for others. I know sweaty hands are very discouraging. This stuff has got me back to loving to pole!

I just found another website with a lot of cheap Pleaser shoes-
http://www.thelacygirl.com/stripper-shoes.html
A lot of the cheaper ones are only available in larger sizes. If you use coupon code LACY you get an extra 10% off.

I just found these bamboo mats on eBay –
they are cheap and seems like they might work well and are attractive looking.

I adjusted my grip and am now not sticking too much in my hand area but I am still having another issue, The very bottom part of the glove by my wrist is catching/sticking to the pole and stopping my spin. The gloves seem to be nice and tight on my hand and I tighten the strap as much as I can. So not sure why it is doing this or what I could do to prevent it? Also after the very first spin I did in them the stitching in the seem by my thumb popped! So I hope they aren't going to fall apart after only a few uses. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif

Have you tried applying the Tite Grip an hour or two before poling? I have just started using it and it is the only thing that has worked for me at all. I apply one generous layer up to 2 hours before getting on the pole and then another layer about 30 min before. My hands still sweat just a little but it's manageable.

I’m about 5’9 so I’m glad to hear other girls my height are rockin the big heels! I might just have to give them a try.
-
Does anyone know where I could find some blacklight reactive shoes with a 5″ or shorter heel? It’s so hard to find cute pole shoes in that heel height range and I’m already pretty tall so I feel like a giant freak in the higher heels.

Costumes4less.com has some really cheap Pleaser brand shoes.

I have a 50mm Chrome pole. I bet gripping too hard is my problem with them since I’m used to holding on as tight as I can.
-
I have a serious sweaty hand & feet problem too when I am doing pole. I just started using Tite Grip and it seems to help a lot. I put it on an hour or so before poling and then put another layer on just a few minutes before. As for the gloves I just bought a non-tack pair from my studio. When I tried to use them though I stuck so much that I couldn’t spin at all. It seems that so many other people have had success using them though. Can anyone that has used them for spins give me some tips?
-
I tried it on my chrome X-Pole today and danced for about 40 min with only one wipe down during. So it worked great and I have a serious issue with slipping usually. Thanks so much for this little tip! I just hope it works as good on my studio poles.

Ya, taking a towel in a zip bag is a good idea. Do you guys think my pole studio is going to have a problem with me bringing my own wipe down towel instead of using theirs?
-
Also I wondered if it's safe to use the vinegar on a chrome x-pole?
-
Has anyone tried vinegar wipes? I found these (http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Equipment-Lavender-75-Count-Containers/dp/B001G7PU56/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1299352960&sr=8-4) on Amazon and wonder if they would work the same? It would be a bit more convenient for taking to a pole class and since they have lavendar maybe they wouldn't smell as bad?

Is using the distilled vinegar on a chrome x-pole safe?
