I love that move, but I don’t know if it has a name. I tend to get tangled up when I try it though.
Here is an interesting variation on that move. She does it at 1:08.

Just thought I’d bump this up in case anyone else wants to get together! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
Verucablue and I are planning on going to the Good Hurt on Monday, May 17th to watch Rock n Pole show. Here is their website if you want details of the event… http://www.medicinalmondays.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Let me know if you’d like to come with us!
Also, I plan on taking some pole dance and aerial classes while I am visiting. For sure, I want to take a lesson with Bad Azz at Bespun. And I am going to take aerial classes at OCPoleFitness and the AerialClassroom. If anyone here wants to take a lesson at any of these places and cares to join me, let me know. I would love to meet some of you lovely SVeeners while I am in town!

How long will this special last? I really want ot get the new Xpert, but like rms3f, I am about to spend a boatload of $$ in DC, and so need to hold off a bit.
-
Thanks for the idea amcut! Unfortunately, private lessons are little out of my budget, however I’ve contacted OC Pole fitness and the owner said I could drop in to their group classes. They also offer aerial classes, so I am going to take
advantage of their aerial hoop class.Veruca ~ I would love to meet up with you! Do you want to get together for a pole jam? That would be awesome! I also want to check out the Good Hurt Club in LA on their pole night. Have you ever been there? Maybe we could get some Veeners together and go as a group?
-
That would be pretty sweet! I’ll look up that studio.

We could also just meet at the bar at another time too, doesn’t have to be a convention related event. I’m not sure how it works yet, but aren’t the bars in the hotel going to be open to everyone?
-
I like both ideas of a ribbon on the wrist and a meet and greet. That way we can all get formally introduced to each other a little better and also recognize each other at all of the different events. Sissy, that is so nice of you to offer the ribbons, and I think meeting at your booth is a great idea… unless we want to meet at the bar https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Quick question, how are we going to be able to find each other at the convention? I’d like to meet as many SVeeners as possible, but I know this is going to be huge, and I can see it getting easy to get lost in a sea of people! So should we arrange for a separate meet and greet or xchange hotel info or something?

I had a go on my friend’s Star Standalone pole, and I have to say, it was rather disappointing overall. I found it to be pretty wobbly and noisy. The spin mode was not very fast or smooth as the pole just kinda slots into the base, and there was a lot of swaying. I could not do many spins on it as I am left-handed and the top piece of the pole would have untwisted, and that would’ve been very bad. I also had the chance to play on an X stage, for comparison and it was much more sturdy than the Standalone pole. The spin was also much faster and smoother on the Xstage. The poles screw together but there is an added internal screw (secured with an allen wrench) to keep the poles piecs form untwisting. Even though the X stage is more expensive, it is definitely a higher quality pole.
FYI: I tested the poles on hardwood floors. My friend has carpet in her home and she said that the carpet does make it less noisy and wobbly.

Yes, it can be spinny or static. The PS poles are also easier to switch between modes, with a simple pull of a pin.

I have question for you ladies that have recieved your poles….
I am considering buying one, but I am concerned with the way the two poles pieces screw together at the top. See, I am left handed and so most of my spins are counter clockwise. I am worried that in static mode, I might unknowingly unwind the top piece and send myself flying into the wall! Have either of you tried doing any extensive left handed spins? Could you foresee this being a problem for someone such as myself?
Also do either of you have a skinny brass? I thought those would be available but they are not listed on the website..
