@Ophidia, it does make sense! Thanks for sharing. SimpllySweet had posted how she pout a wood disk under the dome. I like to hear all the ideas people are using to keep the poles how they belong… upright!

Thank you Ophidia for the info regarding boxing the dome in.
-
@ Ophidia… what is the dimensions of the wood triangle you put under the domes?

MemberJune 24, 2011 at 4:40 pm in reply to: Bought my X-Pert today!!! Countdown 3 weeks!!!!!That's what is so hard about it…. "tight enough" is subjective. I called Xpole and they were helpful. I ended up tightening it as hard as I could. I figured either the hex key would break or something else would break but I did not want to have to order more and deal with the silliness of banging my pole on a broom handle outside for 7 minutes while the neighbors wonder if they need to call the cops.
I hope it is okay to post this video. This video was made and posted by PennyGirl I found her video after I stripped my top x joint and it helped me when I got my new one in the mail. Her video was extremely helpful and I saved it to my favorites. Thanks PennyGirl!

The first time I used mine I did not tighten the top joint enough… even though I read the instructions 7 times and thought I did. It spun around in the pole and stripped out. Had to buy a new xjoint and dislodge the stuck one.
Love my pole! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Hi MoonFlower,
First things First… OUCHIE!!!
I'm not any type of a physician but I can share an experience of something that helped me when my skin there got upset.
I did not have tearing but I did have extreme irritation in the area where my inner thigh meets the groin. When I first started pole sits the skin peeled off and was this bright painful reddish pink. It looked like sunburn and was about two and a half inches long (right in that crease) and half inch wide. It hurt like the dickens.
I tried all kinds of stuff to soothe it (lotions, hydrocortisone creams, oils) and nothing worked until I put Vaseline Cocoa Butter Petroleum Jelly on it. I massaged it into the skin twice a day and the area was improved after a day.
The area finally healed. I could not pole sit for a week and a half while it healed. I found that if I pole sit without contacting close to the groin the skin is fine. Maybe I pushed up too close and was pulling the skin too much? I have no idea…
I am not sure if this will offer you any relief since it is a little different than a tear… but if it does, its worth posting.
I hope it feels better soon!

Business classifications rest within the level of risk a business owner is willing to accept. LLC is a limited Liability Corporation. LLCs have the advantage of protecting your personal assets in the event of damages filed. So the business and you are two separate legal entities. Lower risk of losing personal assets. There is a cost associated to that but when you factor the risk of losing all of your personal assets… well worth it for peace of mind.
There are individual business owners that can go a lifetime and not have any damages that affect their personal assets. Entirely up to you which option you choose, its what you are comfortable with.

Maybe some Veneers have some 'tried and true' paints. Bad Kitty has some really cool body art decals… it looks like Karol Helm was wearing them during her Pole Con performance. I would go this route…

Hi Jenn PoleLush,
I am very sorry to hear you had such an extreme flare. Always feels like a set back but try not to lose sight of how much you have accomplished and how hard your body is fighting. It is very important for you to listen to your body as you recover.
For short term use, prednisone side effects do go away when you get off of it. I know how hard that drug is to tolerate… unfortunately I am very very familiar with it. You can talk to your doctors or pharmacists about the drug side effects and if there are ways you can minimize them. Sometimes it is just a trade off for the benefit of the drug. Boo!
With exercise do what you like to do and maybe do a bit less and rest a bit more right now. With time you will build back up to where you were. I hope you are feeling much better.
Let us know how things go!
Sending hugs your way.

TSassy,
Great point about not being defensive. I have also had people completely supportive and tell their friends about it. They are proud of me for doing it! A few close friends have come over to try on my shoes or marvel the pole. Even though they are not ready to touch it just yet… I'm working on them. I love the sensual side too… "strength, endurance and flexibility" You are so right!!!
Runemist34,
You are absolutely correct… it is important that we surround ourselves with support people that are healthy for us. The comment really took me by surprise… it was offensive. It showed me insight on how that person perceives things and that they have a real block around sensual expression. That is their 'thing' and I won't own it. Maybe next time I leisurely read something 'intelligent'… I'll do it in a pole sit.
I try to come from a place of compassion and understanding of another person's position when they are that blocked against sensuality and expression… but can be extremely difficult.

Hi There! You came to the right place! You have to do what you and enjoy and like and be confident in your skin. Others are always ambitious to push their hang ups on you as judgement.
I do not think you can 'stop' comments or looks. You CAN control how you reply to them and how you handle yourself during those situations.
I have had so many comments. One of the most surprising was that "I am too intelligent to do… (long pause) That". That?!? So taboo it can't even be mentioned in a sentence… really? So in addition to being whores and easy I guess pole dancers are considered dumb too?!? Not acceptable!!!
You will get tons of practice to find the reply that works the best for you in most situations. My personal reply to comments is that dance is something I enjoy and that I love it. When people start with the ridiculous talk I tell them it takes immense strength and skill to do this type of dancing. If they go on and on… and they often do and bring in talk of exotic dancers… I tell them I respect women that do this for a living. It is extremely difficult and that they are working hard and making a living and supporting them selves. That normally shuts down the conversation.
I would much rather enjoy my pole than stop something that brings me so much joy and health benefits because some judgmental people will have a problem with it. I love love LOVE my pole.
Rock your pole and make no excuses for what you do.
Welcome to the forum!

Thanks Curlsgrrl! I am going to try the bouncing shake… I think I can… I think I can… I think I can!

Check out Veena's booty lessons!!! I loved how Karol rocked that booty! So fun!!!

Confidence is extremely important!!! If you do not have it entirely use the 'fake it until you make it' technique.
Stay within the moves you are comfortable with. Have a few 'fall back' moves to go back to if you start to feel nervous or forget what you were going to do. You can do some slow back arches, touch your leg, twirl your hair, brush against his knee… you get the idea.
It is your dance, you are in control. He will love it! Have fun.

I have an X Stage lite and love it! There is wobble on the pole as Veena says because it is not secured at the top. I got the lite variety because it is a lower profile and also lighter… I drag my pole stuff around myself (too stubborn to ask for help) so lighter was a good thing for me. I like how well engineered it is and is nice looking. It also has stabilizing legs and pegs where you can weight it down under the stage plates (making it even more secure).
The stage size when doing floor work does take some planning or accommodation. I am over six feet tall in heels so when I do splits my ankles hang off. I also can't really do a lot of push up type moves because I run out of space. I just keep that in mind when playing.
One really nice thing about it is that you do not have to worry about finding a joist. That's sweet! If you have ceiling height less than 10 feet… like I do… you have to shorten it. Boo!
The wobble and the stage raised from the floor surface are really the only things that I have noticed that make it different from an Xpole or permanent mount pole. The spin is smooth on it.
Have you contacted X Pole to discuss your concerns regarding weight maximums for their products? They would be a great point of contact to discuss your concerns with since they should know the engineering tolerances.
Wishing you the best of luck in finding the perfect pole for your needs!

This is great news that some very dangerous conditions have been ruled out and that the enzymes did not increase.
Congrats on your pole progress and finding a way to work with so much 'worry' energy.
Keep us updated! : )

Thanks! I'll be trying it. : )

I added tuna pouches to my list too. I like the flavored tuna pouches… even though sometimes they do remind me of cat food.
Will look for pure bars too for a grab and go snack. Great suggestions all, thanks!

I am spending time doing strength training too but instead of weights I am doing full body exercises like plank, pilates ab moves, and Veena's strength lesson! Pole holds and climbs… things like that. I am stronger now than when I started but a long way to go.
I like what you said about hopefully one day the moves themselves will be the strength training… I am sure looking forward to that!
