Agreed Haloanne! I have so many spreadsheets b/c it is so difficult to classify. I like you version better than mine because it looks cleaner & isn’t so overwhelming. Thanks for sharing!

I know what you mean. It’s a difficult position to be in. I’ve experienced something similar in noticing the way some teach based on common sense safety knowledge that you just gain by doing this awhile. I would love to continue to go to the studi I trained at the most but between not feeling like I can learn anything new myself & seeing level of instruction new students get, I don’t even bother. It’s just really frustrating to miss out on the “studio atmosphere”. But you just have to weigh the costs/ benefits..especially if you know it’ll be hard to bite your tongue. I hope you find the balance & maybe it will encourage you to instruct in the future.

Thanks! Thinking about my space, I might just need to save my money & stick to chrome! 🙂 it will help but not enough to justify the cost ATM

@Wcox what has been your experience transitioning from silicone to chrome. I’m thinking of getting silicone but not sure if it will really help build my strength for chrome. I ask bc it took some adjusting when I was practicing on my 50 for about 3 months & tried to go back to my 45.

Love it! Perfect for the A.D.D. poler in me that just wants to “rush” in so to speak. It’s great you’ve added links to the moves we need to know how to do before attempting. I’might so glad a finally purchased a subscription.

I agree @lula geddes I was one of the first people down for the challenge but I just didn’t make time to follow thru. I had some free time yesterday and since it was the start of a new week, I just went for it. Cant worry where everyone else is at. I’d hurt myself trying to catch up a this point. The plan is to take it one day at a time. Look at the plan, estimate how long it will take and fit it in! Glad I have you ladies to keep me accountable.

I like this idea! I would love to go to Pole EXpo but I pretty much only travel up & down the east coast for cost reasons. But let me know what I can do to help you get this started!

Not sure how long you’re here or what part…I’m in Raleigh if you’re interested in meeting up. I know plenty of polers! There are 3 average sized studios around here.

Thanks Cantetinza17, I saw that video and that’s what really had me thinking “I can do this”. I’ve come along ways from the old, lazy me. I took the ASVAB 3 times before I decided on college and now several years later, I’m still thinking about it and surprisingly, I’m not too old for the Air Force. lol. I appreciate the advice and encouragement. And as always I will definitely treat everyone how I want to be treated. Roles can always be reversed and you never know when you will need someone. I wish everyone lived by the golden rule but that would be too easy, right? Thanks to you both (@nichtooks)!

Can I bump this? Want to hear perspective from people in the military. I really want to join as an officer. Would just like to hear about a day in the life of someone balancing a military career and pole which I also see as a career move in the near future.

@chemgoddess1 Thanks for that! now I don’t feel so weak (we polers are usually pretty strong)! lol. I bought mine used and I don’t have the carrying case so I can only take 2 pie pieces at at a time (hence the extra trip). lol

Your english is perfect! I have a Xstage lite, I like it although it doesn’t get much use. I really use it mostly for traveling. And that’s only b/c I live on the second floor and I just feel quieter on Xpert/ Xsport. I haven’t heard many good things about the SSA which is why I stayed with the X-pole brand. HOWEVER, when I was researching I really wanted the R-pole. It seems lighter to transport and the quickest to set up. That Xstage is heavy; I’m only 120 lbs. and it takes about 3-4 trips to get it from my apt to the car. I think the stage is about 80 lbs. The R-pole was just really expensive in USD vs GBP and with shipping it wasn’t feasible. Also, it looks hard to pole in with heels on. Hope that helps some…I know it won’t help much 🙂 Just my opinion.

I agree. I’m an accountant. So one could say ethics, etc, anything really. Unfortunately people will be closed minded. I’ve recently come out the pole closet with my family and they were all very supportive even bragging on me. Much to my surprise. You never know how some will perceive it and some will never get it unless they open their minds and actually watch a performance or try it. I recently had an overly zealous friend tag me on my FB page. It made me realize I wanted a separate page just for pole. I talk about it too much and would love to share videos with friends that are interested. I’m going to invite people to befriend me/like my other page. That way if you’re interested look and if not please deny. Dont know if that helps. Just wanted to chime in that having a separate page doesn’t necesarily mean you’re denying yourself 🙂

you won’t regret it. I just got one. And although my Xpert is my fav (bc I live in an apt and don’t want to bother my neighbors with late night poling), you don’t have to worry about setting it up anywhere – outside, at the beach, wherever!

Thank you all so much!! Webmaster and Yuengling I just saw the video! That was scary when it lifted right off the floor. Charley thanks again! I’m going to post a new thread looking for an X-stage. My other poles are Xpole but the legs was what was turning me off. But I think I’m going to have to go with safety! Thanks to all for the input!!!

Thanks Charly, I want to be able to crazy tricks and lots of combos, photoshoots, practice, you name! I want to get my money’s worth. The only reason I was leaning towards PS b/c of the review that was on Youtube. With that being said, how is the stability of the pole in your opinion WITHOUT those extended feet sticking out?

I’m hoping to “bump” this thread. I am currently looking a stand alone/ stage pole. Preferably a 45 and I’m leaning towards Platimum Stages. I have a 45 sport that I would be willing to trade also. Mine is a 45 chrome X Sport (it does not spin). It’s barely used with all parts, including carrying case.

I'm in the same boat as you. Although you don't want to hear it….you should just go for it! I'm a strong believer of mind over matter. You can talk yourself into failing something that you totally CAN DO! It won't be easy to randomly "perform" without music for almost 3 minutes but I say try it one night you have 10 minutes to yourself. And then decide. Good luck!
