OMG!! Yay Canada!!! Thank you!!
Next time I’m at West Edmonton Mall I’ll stop by the sex stores there. I think they have a couple club wear stores as well. I’m picky with shoes so I generally need to try them on before I buy them. Or at least try on shoes by that specific brand to get a feel as to how they fit!
Thank you so much for all the help!!

They sent me an e-mail today saying that my order has been cancelled.
Apparently they can’t ship to Canada because there is already a supplier here, or something.
This is what they said:

I am afraid we are not permitted to ship to Canada. There is a distributor already located in Canada and also the shipping is prohibitive as far as cost is concerned. I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. I have canceled your order.

So….where can I purchase an X-Pole? lol!! Who is the distributor in Canada?

I found this website http://www.xpolestore.com/ and they have "Canada Only" poles, but they’re the old ones? I’m confused! lol!!! I had no idea this was going to be such a headache!

The seller wasn’t Amazon, it was Mighty Grip.
I checked the comments and everyone that left a remark/review said that it was in fact the real deal.
I guess I’ll find out when I get it!!
Fingers crossed that it’s a real one!

I’m assuming the reason that Amazon has their poles on sale is because they’re getting the new models as well.
I would rather pay less and get the old model than wait a few more weeks and have to pay more for the new model!
Thanks for the info Veena!!

Sorry Heatha, totally missed your comment, i’ll look out for that thanks. I guess my whole body gets sweaty, but mostly my hands. I think it might be that I get a bit nervous about slipping and they get worse. Maybe it’s all in my mind!
No worries! I find my hands get sweatier when I know people are watching me pole dance. I think it’s my nerves that makes me extra sweaty!! I’ve also found that as my grip has improved the sweat hasn’t been affecting my ability to grip the pole as much.

I found this useful for pictures of splits stretches, but as with everything, take with a grain of salt and use your own judgement: http://members.fortunecity.com/tchb1/Splits.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Be gentle!
OMG!! Some of those pictures are kinds scary looking!!! But that is exactly what I’m looking for!!
Thanks!! I’m adding that link to my favourites!!

Is it just your hands that get sweaty, or your whole body?
I’ve heard of people putting Drysol on their hands (it’s like an anti-persperant, but you CAN use it on your hands). It’s supposed to stop the sweat completely.
I’ve thought about it a couple times, because my hands do sweat quite a bit but I haven’t actually done it yet.

Over the knee socks? Or maybe get some socks and chop them up to turn them into knee pads! Those are my suggestions. Or Maybe buy an area rug or two and put it/them beside your pole for when you’re practising your floorwork. Then when you’re performing for your man or whoever you can take them away.
And I can’t see the time on the videos either, I was actually wondering the same thing!!

February 7, 2010 at 5:44 pm in reply to: what do you say when people call it a "stripper pole"?

When I signed up for my Pole Fitness/Dance class my boyfriend kept on calling it a stripper class.
I had to explain to him that my clothes were not going to be coming off and that I was taking the class for fitness, not to become a stripper. I would come home after my class and he would ask how my stripper class went. It does get frusterating, but I think he’s only calling it a stripper class because he knows that it bugs me. He understands that I am not taking the class to become a stripper or anything like that.

When I told him that I bought a pole he called it a stripper pole. I again had to say that no, it’s not a stripper pole, it’s a dance/fitness pole. It’s a little irritating, but whatever. It doesn’t bother me that much.

I’m sure other people will call it a stripper pole but I know that to me, it’s a fitness/dance pole.

Amazon.com has about 5 of the original X-Poles in stock, and they have them on sale.
So I’m just going to buy from there.
With shipping ($95.00 worth of shipping! OUCH!) the total is $344.99.

So now that you’re selling the new poles you’re no longer shipping to Canada?
I’ve tried to buy the pole and it says that I can’t purchase the pole because you won’t ship to Canada.

Yea, I just looked at that thread too and saw that there will be new poles available next week or so.
Hopefully they’ll be available soon, I’ve waited so long for a pole!

February 5, 2010 at 11:15 pm in reply to: 45mm or 50mm?

I’m wondering whether I should buy a 45mm or a 50mm X-Pole.
In my class we have both 45mm and 50mm poles, so I’ve used both.
The 45mm is WAY easier, but I almost like the fact that the 50mm is more of a challenge. And that 50mm is the standard size is kind of making me lean towards getting the 50mm. I don’t know. I can still grip the 50mm, it’s just a bit more challenging.
Any thoughts or opinions on which one to get?
Was there a specific reason you got the size pole you did?
Thanks!!!
