the carmen electra pole connected to the ceiling too: IF you had your own bolts. They ever so graciously provided the holes in the ceiling plate (not the base, I had to invent those). Maybe this one comes with bolts!!!
And yeah, this is ridiculous… why can’t a celebrity endorse a REAL pole!? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_scratch.gif That’s the first thing I’m doing if I’m ever famous…

Yes I’m glad you were able to avoid the "stupid tax", unlike me. And you got your pole in a day!? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_eek.gif I had to wait a week!! (then again, it was shipped from CA and I live in NY)
Congrats! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

haha "considered it for a BRIEF time"… sorry cheesy joke. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif
Yeah I was seriously wondering if you had another fall on the pole and really hurt yourself. I was on webcam going back and forth between the pole and the computer last Friday… dunno if I’ll be doing that again, tho, the hubby wasn’t too fond of the webcam thing. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_rolleyes.gif

Congrats! I just recently got mine, too (also a 50mm chrome), and it’s great! You’ll love yours!
Hehe have fun with the office transformation… we had to rearrange our bedroom and consolidate to 1 dresser for both me and my husband so we have room for ours in our dinky bedroom. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif The sad part is I’ve been kicking the walls anyway practicing my reverse grab.
But I hope you enjoy it and that you can put on quite a show when your husband comes home. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I would say if your instructor suggested either the carmen electra pole or this one then they are about the same quality. If you read the "why Peekaboo SUCKS" topic under the dance poles forum, you’ll see why. I had a carmen electra pole for a week and only did spins on it and the joints started to bend and made a sharp edge that hurt my hands and knees when I slid over it. I put up pics, too. I even went the extra lengths to bolt it to the ceiling and screw it to the floor (and it’s not even made to be fixed to the floor at all). It never came down on me, but it still sucked and I didn’t feel safe doing any moves on it.
A little over a week ago I finally had it and ordered an x-pole, which I just got this past Friday. I’ve only had it over the weekend and the difference is amazing. It’s very decently priced for the quality, and the fact it’s removable and goes from static to spin mode is great (removable would be a plus for you if you end up needing to put it in the kitchen). A similar pole that Platinum Stages makes costs a hundred US dollars more.
Veena also has an article about buying a quality pole from the March newsletter you may want to check out. Compare the pole you get to the pictures and descriptions. She used my pics of the carmen electra pole and pics of her x-pole. Just save all your packaging and receipts…

I was wondering where you went there for a while, Jungle https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif
Well I guess Pepper it is then! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

I loved the sample videos I’ve seen, but unfortunately can’t afford to buy the lessons… https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif I used my spending money for a long time on buying a new pole!
Oh well, hopefully I’ll learn the moves by the osmosis of just being on the site https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheese.gif

Veena’s article was where I got that from, plus the instruction manual that comes with the x-pole says it as well. I guess it’s not that huge of a deal if you don’t, but it’s probably a good idea because someday you may wish you had them.
For me, I packed all the cardboard tubes into the carry case to store them. Also, I’m not using the lower main b-pole on my x-pole right now (and one of the smaller standard extensions) and I just left them in the tubes and put them in the case with the empty ones.

My x-pole finally got here and I put it up basically on my own; my husband had to go to work. The hardest part for me was making sure it was perfectly straight. Next time I take it down I’ll definitely be using a level to put it back up again. But all in all it’s pretty straightforward. You shouldn’t have much trouble.

Can’t help you with the tracking thing… sorry :-/
But you will LOOVE the x-pole. Mine was delivered today and I had a Carmen Electra pole (same thing as the pole aerobics pole). You will notice an immediate difference even when you’re unpacking the thing. The pieces feel much more solid in your hands. It goes up pretty easily, too. Just make sure you keep the cardboard tubes! Oh, and wait until you try spin mode!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

OOO *bookmarks page*
That is exactly what I’ve been looking for… searching through YouTube videos just to find out WTF a move is gets irritating…
Thanks, Lola! (and mrstone for the link) https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

MY X-POLE IS HERE!!!
I just put it up and am busy cleaning up the aftermath of packaging in the living room, but I wanted to let everyone know. Already just from tugging on it and such to make sure it’s up securely, I can tell it’s much MUCH better than the electra-pole. I haven’t done any moves yet because I have a toddler on my heels, but when nap-time comes around for her I am SO on it!
We once again had to rearrange our bedroom to make room for it, and I even made my husband get rid of some clothes so we can share a dresser…
Any name suggestions? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_lol.gif
