I use a 37mm pole and I dont have trouble with those moves https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I guess its just a matter of what you get used to practising on. But you get much better grip with your hands on a slimmer pole and better grip with your legs on a thicker pole. You just have to choose wich one you prefer https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Never tried any of those grip aids but I am competing in september and I want to use it then just in case if i will be having a bad grip day that day https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif Heard some good things about itac and cant wait to try it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif -
No, Im not even sure that she used it. But she did tell me that there are some breathing techniques when I was complaining about my red face. I didnt ask wich one. Maybe I should have. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif
Maybe some yoga breathing technique? heheh well i dont know… :S
But I do know i that it makes difference to breathe while doing the moves. Holding your breath can make it worse.

Most people get periods like this now and then when you stop being able doing moves you usually can and feel like you are not getting any better. Happened to me twice since I started poling in september. It really helped to eat healthier and more regularly and get a good rest. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I have that problem to, my teacher said you can learn some breathing techniques to stop getting your face red while upside down. Would be nice to learn that since its not very nice to look like your head is about to explode https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

What about having the pole on spin. Have you tried that? If that is possible on your pole? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

thank you for the advice. Thing I will begin then with the elbow grip in the caterpillar climb. Pretty scary I still havent been brave enough to do it one handed. I kind of use the forearm grip and use the arm to help push myself up :S Hmmmm hmmmm.. Well practice practice ahead https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Brilliant thread! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif All your splits progress photos are an inspiration https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
I just started taking 2 classes a week at the pole studio I go to. And they only focus on doing stretches for splits. Already seeing progress after 3 weeks https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif Now I just need to take a photo of how much I can do now, start stretching everyday at home and be able to do splits! Hopefully before the pole dancing competition im competing in in september https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_blackeye.gif -
I am not a professional about this matters but me and some girls were discussing this with our pole instructor and she said that cellulite is basicly just some loose type of fat(not sure what it is called) and the best way to get rid of it os to burn it off with excersize, like running, jogging, using jump ropes etc.
This totally makes sense I think and I also have noticed that my cellulite has reduced a lot after I started excercising https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

For me it is kind of a mix of hip and thigh hold and I think I also use the armpit a little bit sometimes not sure though. I let my body drop a little bit to the left side to get the hold. Once you allow yourself to drop into the right position you figure it out. I had a hard time with this move at first but now Its one of the easiest for me. Good luck with it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I think you should be okay. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif I didnt pole for a whole month in december and didnt do anything else instead to keep fit. Just sat on the couch at home watching movies and eating pizza https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif Dont remember feeling any difference when I got back to pole https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

I practise on a 38mm pole and I can do superman and other thigh holds on it. I have only tried a 45mm once and I found leg holds alot easier on it then on the 38mm pole. But all is possible on the 38mm when you get used to it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
