I’m getting close to one of my front splits too, finally! But I was wondering the same thing about the middle splits. Especially since I did have those when I was a kid (back then I couldn’t really do the front split though, lol). Anyway, I guess there’s nothing I can do but stretch stretch stretch https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

I think that its great for kids to learn how to pole. But I just have to say why would she name the classes sexy flexy?! I really dont think thats a good idea even if they are not teaching them to be sexy. And the newslady was a bitch too. =/
I agree. The names do a disservice and I wouldn’t enroll my 9yr old to a class called "sexy flexy" or "pussycat dawls." I’m all for kids learning pole though!!!https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif I agree! Poleing is a great workout for kids. And it reminds them of circus and gymnastics and fireman poles, not strippers or anything else they’re not supposed to be familiar with just yet. So I don’t see why they shouldn’t be allowed to learn moves, climb and play. *Sigh* closeminded ppl https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_confused.gif
But I’d maybe call the classes something like Pole Play or Pole Gymnastics or w/e.. -

Yay!!! Congrats Moxie! What a great way to get good publicity for pole! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif
https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif With stories like yours, one day everyone will be a pole convert! (ok that’s wishful thinking lol, I know https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif ) -
I bet it’s because you have good karma https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

Neither am I. But this routine is accessible to all SV members, so not only the ones that are subscribed to the lessons. Just like the two free sample lessons on the FP! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cheers.gif

Also, it might help to focus on pushing your feet (w/ leg/legs extended) closer to the ground.
(Along with grabbing high, extending arms, pushing hips forward, and don’t forget to keep squeezing https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif ) -
Sounds like you might have over tightened the pole!
-
I heard about ppl using x-poles with lower ceilings. I think you would replace pole B with an extension. But they had ceilings that were around 7ft, so idk. Why don’t you call x-pole and ask them if that might be possible for your ceiling height. (or lack thereof, lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif )
Good luck!!

Your club most likely had 50mm poles. The 50mm is still considered the standard. Height has no direct relation with pole size. Unless it means that you have very small hands, in which case you might find the 45mm more comfortable to grip.

The version where you hook the top leg the other way around, which is a cupid variation, is also known as the knee swing (see wikipole).
The front knee hook pose (higher) on the pole is a cupid though, and the inside knee hook pose on the pole is a stargazer.
Does that clear up the confusion?

In the regular pencil the pole rests between my shoulder blades. For the rubber pencil I use the side with the hand on the bottom. So right hand on top, left shoulder on pole.
Good luck! -
I can’t do the SM body wave (yet lol), but I can do the SG version.
For me the movement starts from the abs (arching your back and then ‘roll’ down using your abs), then comes tilting the pelvis, and then slightly bending the knees to match. Chest is mostly static, although that might be different in SM position.
Does that make any sense at all?
-
Thanks! I’m trying that one next practice!

Pencil mount and iguana mount are two names for the same thing. (Where you start as a drinking giraffe, with your hands holding the pole behind your back and lifting up your legs).
I like to have my dominant hand on top.
Rubber pencil is when you hanging in pencil position and bend your legs back on both sides of the pole, arch your back, and let the pole rest on your shoulder:

I agree with the statements about the 45mm and the core! You’ll get there! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_thumleft.gif -
Wooo, the big weekend is finally here!
First of all, I’m insanely jealous https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif (as always) of everyone who gets to go! I’m sure you’ll all have the best time! I wish you all a wonderful weekend, and hope that you’ll take lots of pictures and vids.
To the lovely men who will be performing: Break a leg! Show off that awesomeness!! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_cat.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_sunny.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_batman.gif
Lol, I’m very vicariously excited https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif -
Unfortunately no, the parts of the x-pert are connected with x-joints and the old x-pole parts are screwed together: they don’t mix..

Actually, as far as I know, the silver titanium finish is only available in Australia. The rest of the world has to settle for titanium gold, lol https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif .
There shouldn’t be too much of a difference between the two besides color.
Maybe one of the Aussie girls can enlighten us? https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_idea.gif https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_question.gif -
Ok, that explains a lot I guess. I was thinking of spinning boomerang as in split spin or V spin. I was wondering what that would look like from the ground. https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif

As you probably figured out by now, the Kendra pole is the same one as the Xpole sport (or XS). But without the "laser etched signature base, logo’d carry case and colour box with stunning photos of Kendra on her pole". https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_wink.gif
