    Tinkerpole, I used to have the same problem when I first learnt superman to shoulder mount. Later on I realized that it’s not due to my physical build. It’s because I was griping too tight between my thighs in superman as I was too afraid I will drop. As a result I was not able to drop my bottom and get into an angle which I can comfortably get into shoulder mount. Maybe try not to squeeze too tight next time and see how it goes?

    I do flexibility training, and core strength training weekly on top of poling. They are two areas I am mostly struggling with

    Mine took at least one year to heal, however it became an issue when I started pole. One day it unscrewed itself and came undone. After that I decided to retire the piercing. It’s just too much maintanance.

    Agree with whatcrystal2011 rose memtioned. I was thinking did you eat well, rest well lately? Are you under pressure lately? Does your diet support and compliment your training ? How long have you been feeling getting “weaker” than previously? Our body is “moody” sometimes, it could be one of those bad days your body chose not to perform. Don’t lose your confidence on pole, enjoy it, it will come back and grow!

    When you said you are weaker could you specify an example? Many times we think we are too weak to do certain trick is not because we don’t have the strength , it’s because we haven’t figured out the easy way to do it . just like the best fighter might not be the strongest fighter.

  • When you climb try to be gentle on your foot, don’t smash onto the pole. Your muscle is not used to hold that much weight at first , Once you get used to it, it will go away.

    Same here. I am only 5 foot tall and I found most of my amazing instructors are my height. Pole dancing is very similar with acrabatics, and most of the acrabatic dancers are small, as it means less weight to lift and probably better flexibility? I can’t fully grab a 50mm but it never bothers me. Welcome to pole dancing. I am exited for the journey in front of you!

    Hahahaha Amy you are hilarious!
    But I am in no place to laugh. I have tried it once, with a steady chair, with little success a while ago. This is a cool move I will put it in my to do list!

    Grip aid definitely help me with holds , especially hand springs. I tried mighty grip before didn’t really work for me. Now I am using Dry Hands and I really like it. Before I perform I always put small amount on my hand, just to give me that extra strength.

    I am still quite new to pole dancing and Veena . So when I registered two months ago, all I could think of was to be able to do hand springs straight up side down, lol… So I call myself vertical.

    Hi everyone,

    After posting the thread I have received a lot of good tips and I have taken all of them on board.

    In today's practice I have done proper body and pole warm up, also played exciting background music to get my adrenaline up.

    The result is I have mastered Allegra, cartwheel mount straight leg , and twisted grib handspring!

    I HAVE improved my home performance! Thanks for the advice everyone!

    Thanks for the response everyone. Now I feel that I am not alone, and I am not losing any capabilities outside of the studio.

    A couple of  things I have learnt after reading the suggesgtions:

    1. Proper body warm up,  not taking shortcuts.

    2. Proper pole warm up. The weather in Melbourne is generally dry and cold (compared to most part of the country), although it is summer right now.

    3. More practice on the pole will make it easier to use.

    Can’t wait. Form roller has been very helpful. I think I will get another one so when streching for front splits I can have one for each leg.

    This is epic! For some reason when I read this I have tears in my eyes! It gives me a sense of belonging and I am touched by the thought that there are many of me out there truly loving the art of pole.

    Make up is a good skill to discover and enhance your feature. As a make up artist, there are a few tips I can give you here for achieving perfect eyelinners:
    1. Product
    It’s important to buy good quality product to suit your purpose. There are pencil and pen type of product, or you can use cake eyeliners + eyeliner brush. It all suit different purpose. Go to the make up store and let them try/ explain to you.
    2. Always start from he middle of the eye lid, then extend to the outter corner of the eye. Then go to the inner corner of eye, extend to the other corner. This will minimize the mess at inner eye corner due to excess produce.
    3. Search on YouTube there are many good lessons you can learn. Pick a technique that works for you.
    4. Practice
    A lot of practice !
