Veena’s splits training was amazing! Losing them was one of the most upsetting things of having to cancel the lessons!

I just can’t push my body up. I’m fairly flexible in all areas but I can’t seem to lift myself

I don’t think I have one. My ability to do pole tricks is very minimal, my ability to dance and do floor work is okay. To do a routine I look a little clumsy and out of place and tend to not be able to do everything. I definitely don’t fall in the sexy category and I most definitely don’t fit in the fitness/gymnastic category. Though I’d like to think eventually I’ll fit into both, but right now I there’s no category for me!

I know this is an old post, but thought it’d be better to add on then start a new one! Haven’t posted pole photos yet, but am starting to soon! @closmo

Silly question, how does one tell? Ones more shiny I assume?

Does that go for both Non tack and tack gloves?

My pole related goal is to get the physio’s approval to start pole again. I miss it too much!

I can do push ups (not a lot but I can, on the knees) but the muscles in my arm keep tearing and not healing which is why I have I stop pole for a bit!

Have fun! She’s awesome, I call her my “instant best friend” haha

I’ve been doing it for about the same time and I can’t do fan kicks or a pole hold haha I have no upper body strength yet 🙁

Rachel pretty much says “if this is what you want to work towards, we’ll get you there” it’s awesome haha

Let me know how it goes! I’m resting yet another pole injury under doctors orders otherwise I would have been there too (no where near as good as you though! I’m at the basic level still), but I will be back there next term 🙂 so if you continue I might see you around!

But yeah, let me know if you like it 🙂

The current class heirachy goes Absolute Beginners, Beginners, Elementary, Intermediate 1 (I’m pretty sure) she doesn’t have anyone above the intermediate level at the moment, but she keeps adding levels each term! 🙂

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you I was at the movies

The studio I go to is in Revesby and is called Love Pole. Very laid back has a mixed focus of fitness and sexy. Very comfortable atmosphere which I find very important because I’m a bigger girl! Instructor is lovely, and very talented

So it would be better to save for the Xstage Lite then I guess 🙁

    Thanks for your help, everyone!

I will have a look, but I’m not sure that’s what I have. But then again, I don’t have a clue about these kind of things.

This is what the ceiling looks like. With beams on the outside. Ill speak to Dad again, he’ll know what’s going on a lot more than I will.

There are spots to put the pole, but they’re not secured. The entire ceiling lifts up when we put the pole up. The beams can be pushed up with your hand.

I’m not entirely sure what you mean by joists.

I’ve never heard of an x stage lite. I will look it up now

Hi Veena, the ceiling turns out to be fairly flimsy. We put it up but the pressure of the pole basically started to lift the entire ceiling upwards. The pole didnt stay put and was sliding each time weight was applied.

Hi Webmaster, haven’t looked at the Veena pole. It’s a bit expensive for me right now, but might be an option in the future. But I’m still afraid of the structural soundness of the place

I’ve never performed but I would definitely invite my dad. Dad is very supportive. I’ve practiced in front of him and when I get the move he gets excited for me and I get a lot of “Mum, did you see that?!” And “That’s really good baby!!”

Dad puts my pole up for me, takes it down, tries lifting himself up on it himself.

But I know others who just can’t tell their parents.

I think you’d have to go on your comfort levels. I know my parents and I are ‘friends’ as well as having a regular parent/child relationship.
