You should definetly work on shoulder mobility for the iguana but also remember that leg flexibilty comes into play too – I used to not be able to grab the pole because I couldn't bend far enough over to grab the pole.  So do work on that shoulder mobility but also be sure to stretch and strengthen those hamstrings.

Make sure you're grabbing the pole the right way too – I don't often teach this move but when I do I notice that people aren't putting their arms and hands in the right place on the pole.

Good luck with it and enjoy that massage!

For a studio – ideally both.  One of the studios I work at has both and I think that works best.  Everyone can find their best grip for each move.

It totally depends on the competition.  There is no standard regulation size right now.  I think USPDF still uses 45's but at ECR they had us on 50mm's.  The Midwest Pole Comp that Empy is putting on will be on 50's.  I eventually just purchased a 45 to add to my collection in case I wanted to do a comp with a 45.  Plus I like to cross train between the two.

I think Rebecca is out of the country – maybe touring with Lyralicious?  I thought Rebecca was in it too until I looked and thought about how I hadn't seen her post anything about it.

Miss Sexy and Miss Trixter are a shared second place so maybe they are going to instead do a do a 2nd and 3rd place?  Perhaps as things go they are going to provide a different ranking system?

It's a tough competition in both divisions and I can't say I really have a favorite – I know they've all been working really hard.  It's going to come down to who is having the best night.    I think every single person has what it takes to be the next champion I just think as always it comes down to who's having the best day on the pole as we all know that can be conditional based on body chemistry and weather and nerves.  It's getting more exciting and tougher each year!

I just did my first online stretching session and it was awesome!  I really like the resistance stretching because the body keeps moving and because it's building muscles as well as making me more flexible.  In some of the stretches I was able to see immediate gains in others I was able to feel how tight and weak my muscles were.

Ellen was able to quickly identify wear I'm weak and tight and gave good advice when to do each stretch to get the most out of them.

I loved every second and I learned a lot.

Seriously, this is one of the best purchases I have made towards my pole dancing!

See you soon for a tune up!

You know what you guys…instead of being rude why don't we support and applaud the hard work and effort these girls put into their routine.  It's freaking hard to get past casting for these kinds of shows.  Good for them for getting in there and getting pole dancing featured.  We should be THANKING them.

When did it become okay for us to be judgemental and rude to each other?  These girls get burned and bruised just like we do, and who knows they may even be forum members here and some of the things written are just hurtful.  They've already had to deal ABDC rejection, they don't need pole community rejection on top of it.

They did a fine job of representing us – America doesn't know what handsprings and jades are!  The moves they did were well advanced enough for the crowd they had.  Keep in mind the show is America's Best DANCE crew – not pole dance crew – they were still expected to have choreography OFF the pole and they had limited prep time and limtied audition time.

Armpit holds, inverts and lunchboxes are NOT easy moves, how long did it take you to learn all those things?  If they're so basic why aren't they in anyones beginner program?!?

You know a few years ago I would have peed my pants with excitement to see that routine and would have proudly pointed out all the moves I could do.  A few years ago all of you would be proud and excited of Jag6ed instead I'm seeing a lot of nasty comments about them not brigning it, not representing pole well, not being advanced enough…that's kind of bs.  They did great and represented pole well to MAINSTREAM America.  I bet no one in that crowd could do the stuff they did.

I am proud of Jag6ed and even if I am a different kinf of dancers I can appreciate them and was happy to see thier performance.

I hope we can get back to treating each other with kindness and thinking about how we would feel if we were them.

LOL Mini!  I got it, it's up.  It's HEAVY, it's kind of complicated the first time and took me a few seconds to figure it out.

One go on it and it's so solid!  I love it.  Yes there's some wiggle but no more than the X-stage.  I got the 45 and it feels soooooo solid.  BIG difference from the SSA.  The SSA was so wobbly that I just imagined ALL freestanders would throw you off of them.  It's a great product!

Sometimes they are just standing around because they realized pole dancing isn't for them and they;ve paid for the classes which are non refundable.  Sometimes they just need more breaks. Sometimes they're overwhelmed.

I teach multi level classes which means without notice I might have a new person who has never touched a pole before in class – they need to be taught everything but so far my students are great when that happens – they like to pitch in and encourage new people and make them feel successful – I think that makes the real difference when someone is so far behind the others,

I have a girl with me today who started almosft 2 years ago and everything has been a big struggle for her and she's been in classes with less experienced dancers who have been able to pick up on things quicker but she's still here.  🙂  And rocking out!

Talk to her first, I usually don't offer privates because they are so expensive and I don't want someone to feel like they have to pay a ton of money to do pole dancing.  Just see what's going through her head, see if she likes the classes.  If she does then maybe just let her watch and go at  her own pace – she'll get there if she likes doing it.  Maybe getting the class to cheer her on will help too.  Maybe find a way to have everyone make her feel wanted and accepted into the class.

Awesome Ember!  I thought it might be a 45.  You know for a 10ft free standing 45 – there wasn't that much sway in it at all!  A lot less than the Star Stand Alone at 8ft, lol!
