Alethea recommends 5-6 days a week of stretching and 1 rest day to get to the splits.
I think stretching everyday is fine so long as you are not pushing yourself everyday. Flexibility training is similar to strength training – you should do something everyday but you cannot keep up the intensity every day.
I switch up my stretch routines frequently and I try not to intensly stretch the same muscle groups – like if my hamstrings are sore – I do some light stretches but I'll focus on upperbody…I will also do a day of yoga and a day of resistance stretching so that I'm mixing my body up. Doing different types of stretching is a good way to keep you from over stretching and straining.
I only do PNF stretching and intense full body stretches 1x/week the rest of the week I switch it up.

I don't know how often prior to this you stretched but if you weren't a daily stretcher before then an hour of stretching is an awful lot. I think it's good to pick a few stretches and work them and stretch for less time and work your way up to being able to do an hour a day. It took me a long time to get to where I could stretch everyday. Also try using that foam roller before you warm up – if you aren't already doing that and use it as soon as you are done stretching.
No matter how great of shape or used to stretching we are we all get sore – I think it's good to continue on doing very light stretching after getting really warm to keep your body from locking up and rebelling.
Also consider grabbing some protein – protein after a workout aids in recovery. I also take advil when I'm tight because it's a mild anti inflammatory drug.

To be fair I have seen the XSL tip up – for me – I'm controlled and ginger enough to not tip it without weights on it in spin mode however if you are really aggressive it can tip. I've seen Shadow tip a standard X-stage with 250lbs of weights on it. Agression plays a part in all stage poles.
I'm glad to see that PS has finally released EZ Connects and I'm hoping they are sending EZ connects to everyone who purchased the original screw together model. I had the SSA and had to sell it because it wasn't safe for me to pole on at my level. With my XSL – I can weigh it down and extend the legs and that makes it much more stable than the SSA…because I can atleast ADD weights and make simple mods to make it safer for everyone. But ALL stage poles can tip up or walk across the floor – I've seen my XSL walk across the floor when it didn't have weights on it – we added about 45lbs and it was solid as can be. The XSL is also a pain to get around because it's so heavy – but I don't see how you can have a stage that isn't heavy. The original square PS stage was pretty heavy and cumbersome too – we had one and outside of lack of room and pole height – it was a great pole for trade shows and I sill recommend that one to this day.
The SSA looks much better now than the version I had. I would have kept it if PS would have sent me the EZ Connect at no charge to me – I shouldn't have to pay double or anything beyond the money I spent to have a good stable pole but they were adamant that I send back my pole at my expense – when they had clearly at one point said the pole wasn't safe for me to use….
It seems PS may be making some turn arounds in their customer service which I am hoping they are because I do like many of their products but after being treated poorly over the SSA I have boycotted them – too bad because I prefer Stainless steel to anything…but seeing PS taking the time to read Veena and post here makes me wonder if they are undergoing some improvements 🙂

Oh and as far as how many classes a week…I teach 7 classes a week minimum – sometimes more…I'm usually the one willing to pick up extra classes.

I've had jobs while teaching but for the last year or so I've just been teaching and focusing on training.
I have been a radio DJ, voice over artist, audio engineer, actor and a receptionist at a salon. i'm currently looking for a part time marketing position someplace – doesn't have to be pole related.

I'm certified through ETED and will likely pursue other pole related certifications as well because ech certification comes with a whole new point of view.
I did ETED because of Empy's back ground. She's been in the pole community for a very long time, she herself has trained with top instructors, is AFAA certified and was a nurse for many, many years. I loved ETED's course because each level required you to test – written & practical. You had to be able to put your money where your mouth is. I don't have ACE of AFAA right now and will get AFAA.
Not only were body mechanics covered, but class structure, how to care for your instructor body that is teaching a million hours a week and how use your words instead of your body, The certification comes with a comprehensive business portion too – just a bonus in my opinion. I've used my business knowledge and continued support A LOT from ETED. Being a 1099 Contract worker can be confusing and I've had many issues pop up with that as far as my rights and studio rights and each time I've needed help they've been there with quick answers.
I like the continued support I get from ETED. I will definetly be taking the advanced program and renewing every 2 years.
Other certs I'm looking into – Xpert and Climb and Spin. C&S is a little pricey but you get A LOT for that money, one day I'd like to go through the program – it doesn't look easy.
