Can I just second that. Macs are awesome. I used PCs up until a while a go, but I was persuaded to buy a macbook. Definitely a good move, worth speniding more than you would on a PC. Yesterday was my first time ever using video recording/editing/uploading software, and found it pre installed on my mac, totally easy to use and uploaded to SV like a dream! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Wow really, so you don’t use a mirror or record yourself usually? I left my webcam on most of the time i was practising the other day, but accidentally left it on for ages… while we had lunch and everything… lol

Good idea. I found when I was practising the other day, my bf was totally uninterested, playinh his playstation.. But i’m pretty sure if I started doing some of the moves you did in your vid, i’d get his attention pretty quick haha!!
I must move my mirror in when i’m poling, surely that should help?

I found it really difficult to sit on the pole even while holding with my arms! Not only does it hurt my thighs, but my thighs don’t seem to be able to squeeze the pole at all… and that’s where I thought I had muscles!

I think I did the fankick, i presume it’s the same as the windmill. I found that fun, but it really hurt my upper inside ribcage (right under my breast basically!) from holding it against the pole during the fankick. Is this normal, or could it mean that i’m doing it wrong?

I can’t see myself doing inverts anytime soon, I can’t even do a one arm spin, and my abs leave a lot to be desired, so i’ll definitely keep working on my strength https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I just came across you video! It’s lovely.. you’re dancing is really natural-looking and sexy. Beautiful https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif That’s something I really need to start practising, but I find myself self conscious about it. Need to wait til the bf is out I think! Awesome vid, well done, you have no need to be anxious! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Thanks sissybuns, i’m pretty sure I couldn’t have poled today even if I had really tried… my arms wouldn’t allow it!

Okay thanks Veena, I’m pretty sure its just the good ol’ sore muscle pain so i’ll try to keep moving! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I’m just wondering how much pain os normal pain? I’m making sure to leave a day gap between poling as I saw Veena suggested in a forum. Yesterday was my first day. Today i’m so sore all over. Its bearable, but my muscles are so weak and sore. I try and stretch, but they seem to just tighten up again. Did I push myself to hard. Should I have a go on the pole tomorrow even if my muscles are still sore? (Although I may find it hard to throw my legs at the pole with all these bruises!)

Hey thanks! I still can’t believe how much easier it looks.. Hehe and neither can my arms, could barely dress myself today! lol! Thanks for having a look. My sunwheel looks very raw I think, need to stretch my legs out and point my toes.. need to get the graceful part down! Gonna try get back on the pole tomorrow if my arms loosen up https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

Oh I see that makes sense. Yeah I have the bottom loading one, but I still find it difficult! I suppose it was my first go putting it up. Do you ahve any friends living near your dad’s place that pole dance? Someone suggested this to me when I thought I couldn’t put a pole up. I you had a pole friend nearby, maybe you could go halves on a pole and share it, and keep it at the friend’s place?

Where do you go to get SV clothes, when I click on ‘shopping’, it only shows xpoles. Is this because i’m outside the US?

Oh no that’s a difficult situation. I’m lucky because I can have mine at my boyfriend’s place. Will you have the pole in your bedroom, because then it might not be too difficult to hide? Why have you had to take a month long break? Also, are you able to put up and take down your pole by yourself. I’ve only put mine up and taken it down once, but if I want to use it in the next week while my bf is away, I’ll have to put it up all by myself, and i’m worried i won’t be able to! I even found it difficult just to hold the dome against the ceiling while my bf unwound it! Eeek!

I find i’m constantly wiping the pole, pretty much after every move, or every second move. I also use the window cleaner frequently. Im a total beginner though, so i’m hoping that will improve soon!

I would love a pair of pleasers! I don’t have the cash at the moment, but I was wondering if anyone knows where to buy Pleasers in Dublin, Ireland. I have looked at the UK site, but i’d much prefer to be able to try a pair on, as i’ve got abnormally skinny feet, so i’d need to make sure they fit! Congrats on your new shoes Tara! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

That’s so funny you dreamt that. The whole press a button and the pole unfolds is great.. maybe you get on to xpole about that https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif I was dreaming about poles the other night, can’t remember exactly the dream, but I woke up the the apartment buzzer going off.. it was my new pole being delivered! Poling on the brain https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif

I’ve only started and haven’t told anyone about my pole except my boyfriend.. don’t really know how to!

Photo 101.jpgPhoto 101.jpgOkay see the line just above the static/spinning screws, that’s where it was becoming loose when I spun anti clockwise. It’s not doing it anymore so I must have tightened it better.

(Those pics are exactly the same btw, it’s not spot the difference, lol, dont know why 2 uploaded!)

Yeah that’s a good point, maybe I could just go for a month initially.

I looked at the vid again, i totally know what you mean about my inside arm on the back hook spin (or attempt at back hook spin https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif) It looks ridiculous! Amazing what other people can see! That shows the value of posting vids up here. Thanks for that! I must admit I was reluctant at first to post a vid of me 1.making a fool of myself around a pole and 2. Wearing shorts! lol!

I’ll look up those moves you mentioned and give them a go https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_surprised.gif)

And regarding, feeling on the pole, I’m pretty sure all I felt was frustration… and pain! haha!!

Thanks so much for watching it! Yeah the back hook spin never really happened for me.. i don’t remember putting it on the vid haha! But I will look back on it and will try moving my inside arm next time I try it. Regarding the fan kick, I feel like it would be crazy to give anyone tips on anything lol! I just found that your inside forearm needs to be at the front of the pole, and then i just swung and went for it. I used this vid, it’s quite good.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZuncGp38j0

And my boyfriend has ridiculous upper arm strength. In fact, when he jumped on the pole in the video, he pulled it a couple of inches out of place.. better not let him on it again!
You should definitely put up some clips, i’d love to see!

Also, are there any other moves you’d recommend I try?

January 12, 2010 at 11:59 pm in reply to: Tongue Piercing

    Hiya,

I have a tongue piercing and have had for 4 years now. If you do get one, make sure you get an acrylic ball as it will not break my teeth (i broke mine on the titanium one… was lucky it turned out to be a small job!) But get the acrylic ball with a metal bar as it wont irritate the inside of the wound.

I’m studying medicine, and although we are not supposed to wear tongue studs on rotations in the hospitals, I do anyway, as it’s not visible, unless im throwing my head back in laughter (which doesn’t happen much in the hospital lol!)

Oh and for the 2 weeks after, don’t go for babyfood, its gross! Smoothies, mash and beans… or just throw small bits of food down and swallow them like a bird hehe!

Also, you should go for a shorter bar as soon as it will fit. When i got mine done I had to go back to the piercing place to get the bar shortened every couple of weeks until my tongue was back to normal.

Regarding food, i’d avoid chewy sweets until you’re totally used to it, as I broke my tooth chewing on a starburst, and this was a while after I got it. Also I find noodles get a it tangly lol! but they’re totally worth it https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_razz.gif

thanks for that do you mean when you put the A pole onto the base shaft? or do you mean the static / spinning screws should be tightened up really tight?

To be honest, i’m not sure exactly how to say it, but it’s not involving the the spinning/static screws as it moved even though they were totally tight. It’s between the A pole and the base bit, yeah. I can try post a pic if you want, but you probably know what i mean, or at least you will! So if you make sure its really tight before you put it up, will save you having to do it again https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif You probably would have known that anyway, but i’m totally new to poles so I didn’t https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif
