Completly self taught here too! Dvds and youtube were all I learned from, I suggest getting a crash mat or a spotter for inversions! Good luck I’m sure you’ll be fabulous!

    Name: Alicia
    Age:24
    Location: Stonington, CT
Stage Name: Raquelle Starr duh lol
Lessons or Self taught: Self taught, I teach lessons now
Spin or static: I love static because I feel like I have more control, but spin makes a lot of moves look prettier
Shoes or Barefoot: Used to ALWAYS wear shoes but now I like barefoot better
Favorite pole move: hmmmm…. always loved the superman, I’m really liking the TG handspring though lately
Day Job: Jewelry Sales Associate, I get to play with shiny stuff all day hehe
Your best/sexiest feature: hmm legs and boobs I guess haha
How you got into pole dancing: Well, I was at a bar and they had poles and this girl climbed to the top and did tricks all the way down and my jaw dropped! As soon as I came home I started googleing it but this was 4 years ago when theyre really wasnt much out there and most studios were in Europe, so I started trying tricks on everything I possibly could, including the post of my bed!!!! Saved up $, bought a pole, and voila!
How you found out about studioveena.com: came across it on my epic search for more pole moves!
If you were a pair of underwear what would you be: Boy shorts! I love them!!!!

    yay that was fun!

My favorite shoes are by Pleaser the style is Adore. They come in all different colors/patters etc and are actually pretty comfortable! I have been wearing the hot pink uv ones lately but I have them in black with rhinestone skulls on the side and clear with uv butterflies in the platform! I have so many pleaser shoes, my mom came over and saw them and was like "I’m not going to ask" LOL. Just make sure you get ankle straps you don’t want a shoe flying off mid-performance!

Aww thanks! https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_smile.gif that was my video, most of the students are beginners so I’m sure you will fit right in! I believe most of the workshops can be tailored to any level and she’s also going to do a strength and flexibility class which is great for beginners!

2 min in length and should include spins, inverts and holds. Use this to show your style. The most unique/technically difficult routiens will be chosen…. those are the exact words off the application! Hope that helps! Now what I don’t know is if you are allowed to use editing in your video???

To those of you who own this pole, how tall is the pole with no extentions? I noticed they had a 1 or 2 ft extention, just wondering how tall it was without extentions. Thanks!

Elena Gibson, Fawnia, KT, and Pantera were the first videos/pictures of pole dancing I ever saw which made me want to learn and they’re still my favorites! I also <3 Felix, Jenyne, and Jamilla!

Hehe ill post on the old thread too! I LOVE heels I have to say they make me look tall (even though I’m 5’7 lol) and thin and I think they are sexy as hell! But I usually practice barefoot or I wear "footundeez" which slip on and cover the balls of your feet to make turning on hardwood easier!

    More!!…
~If your desperatly begging your hubby to build you a giant, tall, spacious gazeebo in your backyard so you can have a "Polezeebo" for nice days. (With screens, glass windows that open and electricity so you can play music!)
~If you inspect every sports bra in the store to make sure there’s enough fabric for support, but not too much under the arm so you can still grip for your Teddy and Yogini!

    hehe…You may be a pole dancer if…
~You buy so much tennis players grip that the fimilliar staff at Dicks sporting goods asks you if your a pro tennis player! (…"uhhhh something like that!")
~You have family over for christmas and they eye your pole and you have to tell them that it is a ceeling support or that it’s the latest christmas decoration "fat tinsel that hangs from the ceeling!!!"
~You kick out your light in your ceeling learning a handspring and think of how your going to explain that to the landlord when you move out and his 80 year old mom moves in (that and the footprints on the ceeling)
~You chew out the FedEx guy threatening his life because he ran over your x-pole extention so you can put your pole up in your 10 ft ceeling living room instead of the 7 ft ceeling spare bedroom, and then Fed Ex refuses to pay for it!!!! its still sitting sadly in my basement with a giant squished end https://www.studioveena.com/img/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif
~If your doctor insists that you tell her where you got that enourmous inner arm bruise or she will request you see a psychiatrist. The she wants to take your pole class!
~If your signifigant other no longer gets turned on when your withering on the floor trying out a new move or slinking up and down the pole.
~Your ballet teacher asks why you have an enormous bloody bruised burn on your instep and insists that it does not stain your tights and toe shoes!
~You analyze every yoga position trying to figure out how to do it on the pole!

****haha this was fun I didn’t think I would come up with so many!
