Well, entertainers don't work 12 hour shift.  No more than 4 or 5 a day but mostly like no more that 3.  Singers less than the rest of the band.  I am looking to settle down somewhere, but haven't figured out what I can do on land yet.  At the moment I am splitting time between England with my boyfriend, ships, adn my mom's in New Jersey.  But my pole is in England. My new plan is to save a set amount of money and then decided what to do in like a year and a half, but permanent pole time is a definite motivator.  While on board the ship, I do cardio, yoga arm balances, yoga inversions, ab and toe pointing work, and split and back flexibility prep and such.  And the dream about pole. lol

Tigerlillies, it’s not so fun after a while. Been doin this for 6 yrs almost. Lol. You end up living out of a suitcase and dreaming about pole combos you can’t try out for months. Ha

I am a singer on a cruise ship and after finding pole last year am absolutely missing it. Still trying to figure out what my next career move is but I don’t really know where I will live. Currently spending my off time in England with my boyfriend or New Jersey with my mom.

I can’t open the links either Lina. Although I’m not sure I understand what you guys mean by forward back bending.

Yah. I’m 32 ff for the shock absorber cause it runs small but I also got th figleaves name brand in a 32 f and it works just as well. Well, those are the uk sizes. I think it’s a 32 ddd/e in the us but the site may have the sizes in the UK size.

Do you mean sports bras? Try figleaves.com and try a brand called Shock Absorbers that they sell. I have one of them. Make sure to get the full coverage lime max support. 🙂

Thanx for all the suggestions guys. My problem is I’m an average size girl with big boobs. Ha. Anything that is large or extra like the stuff I looked at on the Mika wear has a back that is a 38 or up and I am a 32. Lol. I have a super supportive one but it ends up making my boobs look bigger cause its a full coverage cup. Maybe I should design my own stuff to go over the sports bra or wear something over it like pancake.

Once you get the strength to doit up the pole try it from pike-bomb-superman. I just learned this combo and found it easier and less scary than from side v. I’ve posted a video of me doing it. I always feel like I need a spotter when I do it from side v. Lol

My favorite of all time is Oona. She flows and is so strong. I like Laurence Hilsums style a lot too. But I’m gonna check out all the links people posted that I haven’t seen yet. 🙂

I love yoga! I don’t follow any school but I do like the idea of ashtanga. Kino Macgregor does some really nice video tutorials on YouTube. Check her out.

Try poledancedictionary.com. They have a lot of stuff. And they have the alternate names. 🙂

I wear heels for work sometimes, but not too often cause it hurts my knees. I’d be afraid to poke my eye out or stab a finger poling in em. Lol one day maybe!

I will try some of those exercises! I have never had plantar fasciitis but I have terrible flat feet that just don’t make pretty pointed toes. Sometimes I get a kind of good point and then instant foot cramp. Lol will work on those arches! Lol thanx ladies

I love the look of Mika yoga wear another pole and yoga brand clothes, but I need support up top and those tops aren’t by cup sizes but just small medium large. I wear figleaves.com own brand for pole and yoga and for higher impact stuff Shock Absorber. I am a 32F/FF depending on the brand Shock Absorber runs a bit small. If I ever compete I’ll have to make my own outfits somehow. Lol

Bethany F, how do you deal with the cold in the garage. I’m in England now and it’s fine when in the house, but my studio doesn’t leave the heat on and I am in the first class of the day. By the time I’m warm and he pole is kinda warm class is over.

I also found that squeezing my but cheeks to tether and pushing my hips up helped to tighten grip by externally rotating my thighs. This is also how I get into a plank as well. Hope some of these tips help!

I have big thighs and don’t have a problem with CAR. I’ve not tried cross knee, but I have realized I need to get the pole right n my croch.

Yoga. You can work on work on flexibility. You can also work on handstands, forearm stands, head stands and other advanced yoga arm balances. Push ups and chin ups if u have a chin up bar.

December 30, 2012 at 3:09 pm in reply to: Slippery X-Pole! HELP!!

I've had my x-pole for a couple of months and I'm pretty much on it every day in some form.  I use might grip on my hands and itac2 on my body.  I'll have so much mighty grip on i can't spin but as soon as I try my butterfly I slide right down.  I've cleaned the pole with a micro fiber cloth, with window cleaner like the pamphlet says and even got a kitchen brush and scrub a bit with the scrub side, blow dried it to warm it up and everything and I still can only do like 2 moves in a combo before my face is in the carpet. help! lol Trying to come up with a routine. I over compensate by inverting higher, but when I get to the studio I'm in the wrong position because I don't slip there. lol

Yeah. That’s why I don’t use it in my hair. Probably wont do my skin any good in a dry climate either. :/ not very sexy. Lol
