Xpole won't stay static...any thoughts?

Hey all! So, I recently changed my X-pole from static to spin, just to play around on it. Now, when I try to put it back to static, it starts loosening. I can do maybe one trick or one spin before it starts to become unstable and spin about 1/8-1/4 turn. I keep tightening it, but it's a pain in the rear, because it's nearly impossible to practice a whole routine before my pole becomes unstable and starts moving. I didn't have this problem until I changed it from static to spin and then back again. Has this ever happened to any of you? How did you fix it? Thanks!
