X-Pole stuck on spinning mode - is it fixable?

Hello! I've just started pole dancing and I am trying to purchase a used pole locally. I found a seller who has a pole that is intended to be both static/ spinning, but is stuck on spinning mode. She said she likely stripped the screw from tightening it too much. Being extremely new to poling, I know very little about how poles actually work. My question is - do any of you think I'll be able to fix it myself, either with better tools or with a part replacement? Have any of you had this problem before? I'd really appreciate some insight. Thanks in advance!

well you can always get a new screw for that area if you are able to remove the other. if you aren't im sure a home depot man knows how to fix a stripped screw :)

If it is an x-pole you can call their customer service and they can help you. they are very good about helping with things like that.

if its just a stripped screw, I think it would be an easy fix. there is a tool that can remove the old screw. you can get a replacement screw from x-pole.

The new screw is an M 8x8 and can be found at a little hardware store that carries metric, note Lowes and Home Depot do not. The tool that you need for removal is called a grabit and should not run more than $15. I cannot remember off the top of my head which size I used.

If it's the "hex" part that is stripped (and not the thread itself), then you can use blu-tak or something similar to hold the hex key in place to get the screws out (rather than having to buy a Grabit Tool). If they won't come OUT, then take the foot off the pole, and you can try to continue inwards and they will fall out from inside.

Hi Amanda, If you would like to verify whether or not you have an authentic X-Pole please send photos and questions to [email protected]. You will not be able to properly set up your pole if the pole is stuck on spin mode. To take out a strip screw you will need to get the tap out or star tool, or you may need to use a drill to crack the screw so that you can take it out. You can also get a 4mm black heavy duty hex key as sometimes these are strong enough to take out a stripped screw. Any other questions please email X-Pole US.

Thank you all so much for your advice! I'm just waiting to here back from the seller and I'll definitely be getting the pole since it's a fairly simple fix.

And that screw size that I gave you is for the X Stage.....my bad. Best to call XPole

After all that, the pole ended up being a fake. I will say though, X-Pole's customer service was excellent!

I'm sorry it was a fake. maybe you can salvage it somehow? hope the person you bought it from didn't charge you too much. and yes, x-pole has great customer service.

I didn't end up getting it. X-Pole got back to me just as I was on my way to pick it up and told me it was a fake based on the photos.

oh good! I thought you already had it. maybe you will find a better pole at a good price.
