Xpole problem please help!

Hi everyone this is my 1st post, hope someone can help... Basically my xpole xpert is stuck on static at the moment, 1 of the screws inside the bottom to switch to static/spin seems to have been rounded off therefore the Allen key just keeps turning, I've only had my pole about 4 months does anyone know if it should bs under guarantee as j bought it direct from xpole, or does anyone have any advice on how to get it working again??? :-( xx

I do not know where you live so this may or may not help: Stripped X locking set screw. This is the set screw that keeps the pole locked into the stage. I am not really sure how you strip stainless but we manageed to do it....twice. I have an idea on how this happened and it comes down to being in a rush to set up/take down poles and not having the hex key in all the way. M8x8 is the set screw that you need to replace them. The ones that XPoles uses have an oval bottom....I have been unsuccessful in finding those (and those that know me and my searching capabilities, seriously, these things are next to impossible to find). The standard cone bottom will work just fine. Lowes and Home Depot do not carry metric set screws. I ended up at a little ACE Hardware store. Also, The Grabit Broken Bolt and Screw Extractor, size 2 is what you will want/need to get this screw out. I tried a few different styles and this one by far is the best in this situation. Handy to have this answer because I know sometimes I don't get the key in fully and I don't realise straight off (not sure how so I try to be especially careful now but still happens sometimes) so by the time I do the damage is done - and I've found it doesn't take heaps to stuff this sort of thing up! :(

Thankyou so much for your reply I think it is most definatley happened due to carelessness putting my pole up/ down! Which I will defo take more care doing from now on!!! I will try using a screw extractor but will have to get 1 from the uk lol... Thankyou again for your advice hun :-) xx

Hi @MrsDill, please give us a call at 888-976-5387 if you need anything else and thank you @chemgoddess1 for your help here. The screw extractor is a helpful tool to remove a stripped screw when stuck. Moving forward, please be sure not to overtighten the screws. Another helpful tip is to make sure the hex key is fully inserted into the screw before turning. If anyone needs any screw replacements, we can mail them from our office.
