okay, i am a little scared to try it out...but when i try to rotate the pole with my hand, it feels like i need to force it for the full spin. is that normal? maybe i just need my weight to spin it easier? it feels like it goes over a hump very smoothly then finishes it's rotation effortlessly. lol. hope you understand! thanks in advance!! <3

Perhaps you have not undone the two hex screws enough? It should spin freely. I know mine does.

yes, try unscrewing the screws a tad bit more

Yep I'm also having the same problem and I have checked the hex screws. It's like the poles aren't completely straight so it won't spin freely.
I have this problem too, I think it is because My hubby installed the pole for me and overtightened it perhaps warping it. I tried to stay off it but I just can't so I just dance on it anyway. I have tried all the things in this forum. I dont think its a manufactures defect cuz it didn't do this before, only when I took it down and putit back up it started doing it. I was told I might have it to tight so I loosened it to the point that it didn't stick anymore but then it fell over! So now I just dance on it, but I also am afraid of wrecking it more. So please update us if you found out whats the deal.
hey guys i have the old style xpole and this has happened to me a few times, each time it was because the pole was over tightened to the ceiling or because the pole wasnt set up straight enough. u should just take it down and set it back up very carefully. 😳
I also get this from time to time. Because it isn't there all the time I figured it was not the pole but the way it was put up on that particular session. After lots of trial and error I have worked out that it happens when the pole is slightly away from 90 deg and it happens on certain types of flooring more than others. I have overcome this by firstly using a spirit level instead of judging by eye to ensure it is truly upright and when using the pole on carpet or in an upstairs room (floorboards and not concrete under the floor covering) getting the pole tight and then having someone hang their weight on the pole while I complete the last couple of turns to tighten it. It seems to have solved the problem for me, but I know how disconcerting that "clunk" can be when you rotate in an inversition but it is unlikely to fall over.
