X Pole Joist Strength!

Hi Guys, I have an exposed beam in my garage that I want to drill the ceiling mount for the X Pert into, but I'm scared that the beam isn't strong enough - does anyone know how to test if it is strong enough or does anyone have any suggestions?

There are professional riggers that can check that stuff out for you, you can choose to trust it if its got large enough dimensions... Thats all I can think of. If the wood seems at all dryrotted or insect abused, steer clear.
