Hello, I take down the pole and I can't do it because the tubes are locked. I 've been trying to do all that instruction manual say but I can't do it 😳 Could anybody help me, please? Thanks 🐱

They do lock sometimes, and become a pain to get apart. My trick to it is to take the tightening bars that go in the holes.... I put one in a hole of one bar and one in the other bar and pull/push in opposite directions on the tools (its easier if you have someone helping you). It helps you get leverage to loosen it, rather than trying to turn the actual pole. Hope that helps!
The other way to loosen these is to put those tightening bars in and then brace one against the floor and give the other a smack with something to shock it into turning - rather than just trying to pull on them. This seems to work for me. Hope that makes sense.
what loosened ours was to get a friend and 2 Stanley 2 point x 10 inch screwdrivers. Take a hole each and twist against each other. Nothing else works like these. I made a post last weekend with the model numbers of the screwdrivers. Stanley are a good brand and very strong. The length helps immensely, meaning you can have a hand on either side. Absolutely works and treat and I wish I could remember who here first suggested this method so I could thank them.

Thank you to everyone but I can't do it... I bought WD40 but nothing, I've bended the release rods 😲 😳 I think that I buy the release tool and try again... 🙄

Please be really careful when you take them apart!! Using the rods, it ended up bending the rods but also the actual pole around the little holes. One part of the hole now sticks out on one side, and bends in on the other side, so now every time I have my ankle against it and swinging down it hurts due to a bit of metal thats pushed out! And this was a x-pole.
same happened to me so i looked it up online what you do is put the extended rod adjuster thingy through the pole and make sure it is seen on both sides then take a hammer and gently bang it it will loosen up and the top of the pole will make a loud pop sound when it gets unstuck from the ceiling. thats a warning because i totally almost fell off the ladder so make sure you have someone holding it. look at the xpole vid so you can make sure you are un screwing it and not making it tighter i thought righty tighty lefty losey always worked but certain parts of the pole turn different ways so be careful. good luck it helped me im so heavy handed i screw bottle caps too tight. lol and that was like the first thing i ready when i looked up omg my xpole is locked, in big letters wrote DO NOT TIGHTEN TOO MUCH..... loll

First be sure that you only hand tighten the pole pieces....then, here is a trick I have been using....BEFORE I go to take down the pole..so before I loosen the dome, I loosen the pole pieces themselves...not all the way, but just enough so I know they will come apart once I get the pole down. 😀

I heard that xpole makes some special new release tool. Haven't gotten it yet because it's not in stock but they swear it will work!!!
They are finally in stock. I ordered mine back in Aug and got them 3 days ago. Haven't tried em out yet but they def are sturdy which is a big plus right there.

yeah this happens to me too. what my husband showed me to do is take the long extension tube for my vacuum cleaner (or any long sturdy tube) and put the release rods inside of the long vacuum tube. with the longer vacuum tube you now have a longer lever and it's easy breezy to undo the tough x pole tubes. hope this helps

Hope it worked out alright? This has just happened to my pole 🙁 I'm going to order the kit from the x-pole site. Gutted! This sounds a bit silly... but which way are you supposed to turn the tightening bars? Scared I'll accidentally tighten it..
I think I turn mine counter clockwise. For those of you hoping the release tools work well I can say they do. My pole was stuck since I put it up and I ended up snapping one of the rods (luckily didn't damage the pole) but the new tools are fab! It was super easy to do by myself.
yup, the special release tools work! Have had them over a year and they do come in handy! A purchase def worth making!

SaschaPoles - I got my special x-pole release kit this afternoon and it WORKED! Straight away. Absolutely fantastic.
I can also recommend those super release tools. My company has them and they work a treat. But today I had to take my own pole down, and didn't have access to any. So after much struggling - I have another tip to add to the collection. 🙂 Backstory: - My pole is down, but still all in one piece (minus top dome) - I have the regular release tools, one in each tube (so my sister and I will push in opposite directions to unscrew tubes) We finally managed to get the tubes apart after we squirted a hell of a lot of WD-40 on the joints, and IN the joint too (angled it in through the hole and then rotated the pole to swish it around, so it got all on the inside seam too). Not sure if WD-40 is an international thing. If not - it's basically a lubricant that loosens rusted or sticky parts (among other things). We had to re-apply every few mins coz it would dry up and get stuck again. Using all our body weight pushing the rods in opposite directions my release tools did NOT warp or bend (I think that only happens when you hammer at them too hard?) We finally managed to un-do it, agonising cm by agonising cm haha! So yea - that's my tip! Lubricate! 🥂

Once the pole is down it's difficult to get apart because you have no tension.
Yea mine wouldn't even come apart standing up though 🙁 It HAD been up for 1.5 years though :S

Someone said that some parts of the pole screw in different ways does anyone know if main pole A & B are released by turning them anti-clockwise? My pole is stuck and it sucks 🙁 Oh and I just got it like a month ago so does anyone know if the release rods that everyone has been mentioning are the sturdy ones? Thanks, Sable
My X pole has the base, then the adapter (coz I have a 45mm), then the 10cm extension, then the first 1m piece (I'll call this A), then the second 1m piece with the threading screw thing at the top (I'll call this B), the the dome. I took my pole down this weekend, and part B unscrews anti-clockwise, meanwhile I was putting pressure on part A in a clockwise direction as resistance, to untwist them from eachother. I didn't detach the 10cm extension or the base, but I assume it would be the same for each. I hope that makes sense!
