X-Pert - gap between A&B section- help!

After getting my new TG X-pert put together, there's a pretty noticeable gap between the A and B tsections, but it doesn't go all the way around, if that makes sense. (There's less of a gap on one side of the pole than there is on the other). Did I do something wrong?!!? Also, the TG finish seems almost worn on the bottom of one of the B section (Same place where the gap is). I've never had a TG finish before...is this.... normal!?!? Maybe I have a jacked up B section? Help!! I've attatched pics of the evil gap as well as the uneven finish. Thanks!!! 😀

That's a pretty huge gap - and the other side is almost closed? I presume you've taken it apart and re-assembled the Xjoint into both tubes? If not, take the joint out completely and reinsert it. Just a note: It's very important that you do not tighten the hex nut all the way on one tube and then all the way on the other tube...as per the instructions, you must only slightly tighten one hex nut then the other then back to the first. Going back and forth is essential for a propper fit.' As for the worn part, I dont believe that's normal. I'd contact your sales person or Xpole US.

I did try taking it apart and starting again, but I'll give it one more shot just to make sure. Thanks 🙂

I tried again, and made sure to tighten each hex only a teeny bit, alternating back and forth. The gap remains 😕 I'll call the nice folks at X-Pole and see what they think. Thanks for your suggestions!!!

Here's a better pic of the gap and the worn finish. The gap seems more uniform all the way around now that I re-assembled -before it seemed to gap more on one side.

OK...if it's more uniform then you may just need to push the two pieces togeher a bit firmer. I turn mine over on soft carpet and gently tap the upper end of section B so that it the two pieces push together. Some of them are a bit "stiff" when you first get them and need a little extra "love tap"!

I tried the "love tap", but there's still a gap. I even turned the B-tube upside down so that the worn finish was next to the extesion, rather than in the middle of the pole, but the gap remains the same. It's just up where I can't really see it now. I am beginning to wonder if that B tube isn't flat on one end (the end where the finish is jacked up). The joint that is now in the middle is not completely flush either (is it supposed to be 100%, or am I just being anal?) Thankyou sooo soo much for your help and suggestions, Empyrean! No,...it should be pretty flush. First try puting one of the other short extensions there to see how that fits. If it fits, then its the "jacked" extension. If another extension doesn't fit, now try swapping that xjoint at the middle for a different Xjoint and see if that works better. That will elimnate to possible problems - it's either the extension or the joint.

I just got my TG 45mm XPert an set it up last night. I too have that slight gap between A & B main poles. Mine doesn't seem nearly as much of a gap as yours but it is there and only on one side. I haven't tried the love tap trick yet, but while using it I haven't had a problem or felt it. Yours though seems like it would be a problem. Hope it works out. The finishing may just be a slight factory defect. I'm sure they put the poles in a machine to be coated, but if it's that far on the edge I wouldn't worry. I've read (dont remember where) that over time the coating's color will reflect that of the chrome but the feeling will remain the same as you purchased. It may change due to sunlight, lighting etc.
