Does anyone have trouble with their wrists hurting from doing the cartwheel mount? Mine really hurt. Im not sure if I'm doing something wrong. Wendy

yes it is normal for them to feel tender, i think i read veena says not to overdo it, give them a break for a few days.
You might not be aligning your arms properly, or engaging properly, thus putting pressure on your wrists. Pain is not good. I suggest putting on a wrist brace for a few days to a week and lay off poling until it gets better. I tweaked my wrist (I have no idea how) and that's what I did. Took about a week, but it is getting better.

@ Wendym, It's common to have this issue when working with Split grips. If it hurts while performing the move, try using the "gun grip" for the bottom hand. Also make sure your not hyperextining the joints anywhere. If it hurts after, try this. Don't over do it as Rixi mentioned. I recomend working on new moves no more than 5-10 times in a row, then move on to something else, to aviod over stressing the body. Don't work on the same move the next day, 1-2 times a week is better. Yep both my wrists hurt when I work split grips so definitely follow Veena's tips! I also use these velcro wrist wraps that help me a lot when I work my split grip moves, they help keep my wrist supported and from getting wrenched the wrong direction when I dismount which I tend to do if I am not paying attention and ouchhh. Hope you feel better soon!
We have a few different types of wrist supports on our web site made especially for ladies. Shorter in length so they fit better for a woman. Just might be what you are looking for to help with your wrist problem. Joel Mighty Grip

You need to do some strength training for your wrists. I take a 3lb bar and do controlled wrist rotations. I had to stop doing split grip inverts for a while, because I was hurting myself and it was getting worse. I started doing some simple strength training for my wrists and forearms and I don't have any pain at all now.

Wendy, which wrist is hurting? Top or bottom? Or both?
Wrist grips do help to prevent too much bend. I have a ton of issues with my wrists because I have hyper extension in my elbows and my wrists bend back further than most of my other pole friends. Do weights on your wrists, in and out holding light weights and rotations.Also get a bar and tie a long rope with a weight on the end of it to the middle. Holding the bar with both hands turn the bar to wrap the rope around it. This wrapping of the weighted rope on the bar really does work to build up your wrist strength.
