Wool Dreads

Wanting to put dreads in my mowhawk and was thinking of going with wool. I'm just planning on braiding them in myself. I'm sure it will take a little practice. Anyone here ever used wool dreads? I've got a friend who uses synthetic but they just seem so heavy...
