Will current X Pole fit 8' ceiling?

Hi all..we just sold our place (quite unexpectedly being this is such a weird market) and just purchased another house. We've been in for four days now...I'm so pooped! What a bad time of year to move. Haven't poled in weeks and my pole is still boxed up in the chaos and clutter that will be our garage whenever I finish emptying 40 more boxes! We had 9' ceilings at our old place and the builder told me these were 9 footers where we are now upstairs. Now that I have measured, they are 8's : ( Will me current pole work? There are 12 footers in the dining and living room! Yay! Maybe down the road can take over in there, but just wondering if I can go with the 8' height until I get me strength back and purchase an extension.
