I've been able to successfully do pole climbs and sits, even on days when its hard for me to grip with my hands. Now today I can grip with my hands but my climbs and sits slide down powdery smooth. Is that a weather thing or is it me? I'm sure I'm not the first one. I couldn't keep a sit if the floor was on fire... 😢

Not sure where you are located but yeah...weather! Winter is usually the worst for me. Heat and humidity are your friends right now!
Ah ok. I'm in texas so i've had plenty of heat and humidity but we just got a cool front in. I always thought when people talked about grip and the weather they meant with their hands... thank you <3
Naw...it is pretty much anywhere your body hits the pole. It is frustrating when you know you can do a gemini/scorpio or hip hold and when you try you slide to the ground.

And it seems the "fake" heat makes the pole sweat - so my choices lately have been cold pole with zero grip progressing to a warmed pole that produces sweat. 🙄 Grrrr!! Any idea if a different finish would react better to these winter months of fake heat and cold temps?
Try putting a humidifier in your pole space Momma. The only pole that would probably work are one of the acrylic poles but they have their own set of issues. I can't find the link but I know it is on this site somewhere!!
Another thing to keep in mind is that even though you're not supposed to use lotion before you pole, having skin that's too dry will also made you slide off. That's my problem with this time of year, with it getting colder/dryer outside and the forced air, my skin dries out and I can't grip as well. The solution is to use lotion several hours before poling, like putting lotion on in the morning and poling that night. There are a lot of factors that effect grip, and it can be annoying to figure out which one it is. 😠
While it is true for most people that lotion is a problem, I, on the other hand am so dry, that I just slide down and chafe if I don't use it. So when used at least 2 hrs before poling lotion helps me. It has to be a light formula. I use the new Bath and Body lotion. They just reformulated it this summer and it is perfect for me and poling. Once again though, don't apply it right before. A good warm up is also VERY neccessary. You need to be warm. Humidifiers in your pole area help. Alos, have you tried grip aids? I find if I need to stick, I put Mighty Grip on. Put it anywhere you need more grip. If you are sweaty and sliding due to that, use Dry Hands or Gription (made by Chemgoddess on here) So different grip aids help different sliding causes. You can slide due to dryness or sweat. Also, the chrome xpole is the most slick pole in my opinion. Use alcohol to clean it if this is what kind of pole you have. Hope some of this helps!!!!
