When you Girls Wipe Your Pole...

..."That what she said"...Sorry couldn't help myself. But, anyways...When you use a towel or a cloth, what exactly are you doing? What is the benefit of doing that? Takes all the sweaty hand prints off of it? At my dad's club, all the girls wipe the pole, but they have an industrial size bottle of Antibacterial Sanitizer and they squirt some of that into their cloth and then wipe the pole each time. I can understand doing that when multiple girls use the pole, but does it make it grip easier? is it safe? Are there certain cloths that are better for your pole? So many questions!!

LOL, that's soooo one of my fav jokes. *clears throat* ok , the girls at the club are most liekly doing the doube duty with the sanitizing spray. Wiping off sweat and cleaning the pole at the same time. Those of us at home are most likely wiping off sweat. I use windex and/or alcohol to keep the pole (and my hands) dry.

Not sure if I can waste any of that =) lol..What I'm sure my skin would taste pretty good if I had some Blueberry or Strawberry Vodka on there =)

Yummy... Strawberry Vodka. I've used it and it works great, (not strawberry, Bellevedere, only the best for my dance partener LOL) but it does kinda feel like a party foul to waste it LOL! with the windex I've found that it works better if it's dilluted with water, it seems kind of waxy if not. I've heard the rubbing alchol is good but have'nt tried it yet.

Whenever I wipe my pole, my purpose is to take the handprints off and to make it more grippier... I use half alcohol half water, spray it on the pole... then wipe it down with a regular small towel. 🙂

I used methylated spirits. 2litres for less than $5 🙂

If you go with rubbing alcoho...make sure it is not colored and that in the "ingredients" it dosent' say mineral oil. Some manufacturer's use mo in the mfg process which will leave behing an oily residue on your pole! Look out for "moisturizing" on the label too! Ok so there are my two cents as a chemist!.. hehe 😀

At home, I use rubbing alcohol to wipe down my pole, and it works just fine for a short period of time. My pole at home is stupid slick! Terribly annoying!! At the studio I work out in, we use windex, and its perfect. I'm not sure what the difference is, other than they keep it REALLY cold in the studio, and they have dehumidifiers going all the time. I'm sure climate has a LOT to do with the grip on your pole too. Once we get moving, we don't even notice how cold it is though... its rockin'! 👍 ~Sugar

Oh yeah.. DO NOT USE WINDEX on BRASS poles...the ammonia in it will cause the brass to oxidize....meaning it will turn your hands blue/green! 😀

Microfibre cloths work well too when you're wiping the pole down. And what is this rubbing alcohol I hear everybody going on about? I'm in the UK - is it an american thing? 😀

Oh yeah.. DO NOT USE WINDEX on BRASS poles...the ammonia in it will cause the brass to oxidize....meaning it will turn your hands blue/green! 😀 They use windex on brass poles at the studio I (sometimes) go to LOL.

I'm in the UK - is it an american thing? 😀 Rubbing alcohol is just isopropyl alcohol...we usually get it at a pharmacy for food store! I believe in the UK it's the same thing as surgical spirit... 😀
