What's the best way to video yourself?

Whenever I try to video floorwork I always end up out of the frame or mostly out of the frame. I've been placing my phone on the floor whenever I video. Should I use a tripod to fix this problem? My tripod is about 1-2 feet tall.

I know moving the phone farther away would solve the problem but whenever I'm at the studio sometime it isn't possible.
