I have finally moved out of my parents after college and can get a pole. I wa thinking x pole, 45mm, chrome ??????? Advise? My grip prob isn't Very good and I have petite hands

Hi, I originally got a 50mm chrome but then got a 45mm after a year which I absolutely love. I think if you have petite hands a 45mm is a good option, my hands are smallish and I feel more secure on the 45mm as my fingers didn't reach around the 50mm at all. I have only used chrome, it can be slippery in the winter but I didn't want a too grippy pole. Can you try any out first, I couldn't so I stuck with chrome as it works for me :)
45 is good for us smaller girlies. Either chrome or TG would be good choices. Honeslty, I used a 50 for the longest time and got fed up. After using my 45 for a while now, the 50 irritates my wrists. I bought a 45mm TG and love it! its way gripier than chrome once broken in and it saves me tons of money on buying grip since I get away with using hairspray as grip
Has anyone had issues with the gold on TG wearing off over time? I remember reading about that happening and that's one of the reasons why I'm a little hesitant to purchase a TG (that and I don't know for sure how my grip will be on it)

Yes, the gold finish wore off of mine within the first year so Xpole replaced that piece (the piece that's eye level that is used the most). Someone else had this happen to them too...Aerial Amy or Dirdy Birdy maybe?? I've heard that it doesn't affect the performance of the pole and the charge to assist with gripping is still there even though the gold color isn't.
Interesting! Well that's good to hear that it does not affect the grip of the pole, but wouldn't you think X-Pole would come up with a colorless grip-aiding finish to avoid this gold-wearing-off issue? Just a thought! haha :)
Actually, I'm studying materials science & engineering in school...so maybe X-Pole can hire me someday and I'll do it for them 😀 tehe
The TG pole is a titanium pole that has been anodized (electricity passed through it) to give it a gold color. I know this was an issue with some of the earlier poles but I have not heard of it much in the last 2 years. I wish they would just come out with a straight titanium pole, forget the coloring. The titanium is what gives it the grip, not the coloring. Veena has a TG and I do not believe that she has had any issues with hers. It's funny, cuz AUS gets a bunch of stuff that we don't (like a titanium silver, a 42mm pole, amd a 40mm brass.) We as the US customers can put a ton on inquiries into x pole about getting the silver (matte) titanium poles, etc. If they get enough inquiries, they may get those products here. As it is, they are probably not getting enough requests. My TG pole was used for 9 months. In that time, the only wearing of the gold I saw was a tiny part of my adjuster cover. No biggie. I've also heard that the gold wearing doesn't affect the grip, you just end up with a dual colored pole.

I love my X pole 45 Titanium. My TG has not faded, and I've had it for 3 yrs now. I'm told that if it does fade it doesn't affect the grip. However..... I had one section fade after having someone dance on my pole and they used Itac! I don't use any grip aids.

For anyone worried about TG. I have danced on faded TG's and I can honestly tell you that the gold has nothing to do with the grippiness of the pole - I still felt the faded TG was grippier than the chrome - by a lot. I have a TG 45 - its brand new so it's not faded and but feels like the faded ones I've been on :) So, buy the TG for the grip - if it fades it really won't matter.

My 50 TG is about a year and a half old and the gold color is almost all off!! It hasn't affected the grip at all and I kinda like the way it looks!! 🙂
Is there a correlation between using grip and the color fading?
I bet you the type of cleaner used affects the gold color. Also, the friction from use probably does as well and our sweat and oils.

I've used water, rubbing alcohol, Vodka, Windex, soap and nothing has changed the TG finish. I would say a persons body chemistry or using grip aids are the culprits. But yeah, the grip doesn't change anyway.

Stand in the spot between the wall and where the pole will be then pretend you are grabbing the pole with one hand. Both arms should be fully extended make sure you wouldn't hit anything as you walk around where the pole would be. That's the minimum distance I would say. The more the better, kicking something really hurts! :(

When I first got my pole I did what Sanbar did and also extended my leg as far as I could out to the side to make sure I wouldn't kick anything. I was paranoid about kicking something! Ouch!
IS the TG grippier than a coated Lilmynx?

I personally think a powder coated pole has the most grip of all. Even brass for me anyway.
PC is sooo much grippier than TG. For me this is how pole finishes seem to go, and I may be weird in this: SS is by far the slickest, but it gets sticky. It's just hard with sweaty hands. There is a small but quite noticable leap in grippiness from SS to chrome. Chrome and TG feel almost the same to me in grip. I still slide like mad with sweaty hands for both. Brass and PC feel about the same in grip to me. Sweaty hands are still a problem, but not nearly as much.
