I'm going to be purchasing a pole soon 😀 , and I'm wondering what pole you ladies/gentlemen recommend, prefer, like, and/or love. Any suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated. Please & thank you . 😎

Hey Beautifully.. I personally use the x-pole, which I love for the simple reasons that it looks beautiful and has a "elegant" design. It has both spin mode and static, its reliable and very safe to use. I know some other dancers use the Lil'mynx pole, and love it, but I have not tried it my self.. - the X-pole can be bought on studioveena, so you wouldn't have to look far 😉 Good luck pole-hunting 😉 ps. - STAY AWAY from the Electra pole and the peak-a-boo pole - I know they are cheaper than the x-pole but you'll be waisting your money on them. They are poor quality and very, very dangerous to use as they are only for posing not actual pole-dancing.
I had a Lil' Mynx for my first pole and loved it. I replaced it with an x-pole when I moved and my new place was 2 inches shorted than my ceiling (grr). But I like both poles. X-pole is good for a bit more height flexibility (Lil mynx unless custom ordered is 8-10ft) but Lil Mynx was easier to take down and up. I head platinum stages is good too but I have no experience with them

How much easier to put up/take down is the lil minx vs. the x-pole??? (have a nosy room-mate with privacy issues) Currently have an Electra pole, and it's crashed so many times... if people can have as many lives as cats then I believe half of mine may have vanished thanks to that darn pole 🙄 lucky only ego got bruised...Electra's workout vids (stripercise in particular) are not half bad though 🤓

I have tried all three poles, Lil Mynx, X-pole, and Platinum Stages. I find the grip on Platinum Stages to be the worst, I dont know how to explain it but I find them the hardest to grip. Lil Mynx was awesome, but if you dont want any holes in your ceiling, get the X-Pole! You can only use the Lil Mynx in that ONE spot where you drilled your hole... so you cant move it from room to room like the X-Pole. X pole is the best deal for such a great price. To answer the question about why Lil Mynx is easier to put up than X-Pole.... Once you install the Lil Mynx hardware, all you do is slide the pole over the mount and its good to go, taking about 5 seconds. Where the X-pole you have to completely take down and put back together each time you put it up/take it down. Hope this helps!

I agree with BlueEyes. I am ordering a second pole and it is definitely going to be an Xpole. I have a Lil Mynx Rotator, and it is an excellent pole. I have it mounted/placed in an carpeted area of my house, and would like the option of dancing on a regular surface. Spins suck on carpet!! And just as BlueEyes mentioned, you could move the pole- but not without drilling another hole into your ceiling. My only questions are: what mm (45/50), and chrome or titanium?? Thoughts anyone??
I definitely think you should go with the 50 mm chrome x pole. Some people think that 45 is easier to pole on, but 50 mm is the standers size in competetions, and that comes in handy. LOL 😀 - also I have heard alot of girls say, that titanium gives a better grib than chrome - BUT BUT BUT , oh yes, there's a but - The titanium is only plated on top of the chrome, its not all the way through. - that means that there is a risk of the titanium peeling off with time, which really doesn't look pretty. The xpole salewoman from whom I bought my pole (50 mm chrome) told me this, and that totally changed my mind and made me buy the chrome one, and not the titanium plated which was my first choise.. HI! I have a Lil Mynx and love, love, love it! It is so easy to take down/put up. I have a vaulted ceiling so I had to buy the special mount. It comes with a standard mount that looks like a flower hook to disguise it. I put the standard one outside so I can pole in my living room or on my patio. You can buy numerous mounts for various rooms and since it is easier to take down and put up than the x pole it ends up being very convenient. I also love that you must drill into the ceiling to attach to joist. Gives me added security that it will not collapse during moves. If you move it is easy to fix. A little plaster mud and spray texture, if you have a popcorn ceiling and bam it's good as new. Oh yea it comes in many finishes and colors with a spinny option as well. I have 3 Platinum Stages, 1 Lil Minx and 1 X-pole. My PS poles - I adore because they are easy to switch between spin and static - just the pull of a pin. You can do this in the middle of a routine! I find the grip of stainless to be okay. Not the best in cooler, drier climates but great when it's warm and humid quite sticky! PS poles have the flexibility that x-pole offers in relation to being removable and has extensions - so can be taller/shorter. My X-pole - I have been using this for about 8 or 9 months and find the grip to be excellent in winter when it is cool and dry, I can get it warm enough to stick, in summer when it's warm and humid I found that it got too sticky for my liking...however please note I came from stainless steel which over all is the slickest pole material. Again, you have the ease of removabilty - easier than PS poles but you can change to spin mode mid routine as easily - Ia mnot exactly sure how important that is. My LM pole - is a powder coated pole so the grippiest of my poles. I liked it but found that I slide on spins and my body would stick to much on poses. It was by far the easiest to get up and down once the flange was installed. However, I note that the LM pole ate through my ceiling. The pole itself is not attached to anything, this is still a friction mount pole like the above 2. LM has a spring loaded top that adjusts into a drilled in flange. The flange is held by 1 screw - any swinging moves that move and flex your pole (this is normal) will move and flex your flange leading to the screw not being enough over time to hold the pole up. Additionally it seems as if the LM Stainless Steel poles are the slipperiest of all poles I have heard of and worked with. They have a mirror finish vs platinum stages matte finish and they are barely usable for most dancers. They take forever to heat up and many dancers have said they sanded their stainless steel LM poles 😲 to get them grippy, or rubbed candle wax on them - or a # of other tricks you do not need to do to the platinum stages stainless steel poles. X-pole is available in chrome (reviewed above) and titanium (similar to brass but is a finish, this finish does rub off over time.) Platinum Stages is available in brass(this needs to be polished and taken care of) and stainless steel and Lm is available in stainless steel and powder coated. Titanium, brass and powder coated poles are on the really grippy side, great for people with sweaty hands and good for being able to stay up on the pole and do long combinations.
So I'm one of those unfortunate people with drop ceilings in an apartment Not drop ceilings like tile ceilings, but popcornish ceilings that you would need to cut a rather large hole through to get to the wood. I think. I honestly get differing opinions from everyone, my maintenance person says I should be able to put one up, my boyfriend says no. The stud finder is all over the place and can't seem to give a good reading. We've drilled small holes in it and only drywall has come out, havent hit any wood. The ceiling itself seems kinda flimsy. This has scared me out of both the XPole and LIl Mynx pole. I currently have a Platinum stages pole with a 4x4 base.. because of the size of the base, the pole is barely over 6 feet tall which makes poling not very fun. I can't even really shoulder mount into anything smoothly b/c of it. So I have ordered the Platninum stages freestanding pole. It is back ordered, only has a 2 inch base instead of a 1-2 foot base and doesnt require any connection to the ceiling or floor. It was super expensive, almost $600 because I ordered the skinny brass version. I paid extra because the stainless steel version IS very hard to grip. My friend Mary has an X-Pole and I feel like it's twice as easy to perform tricks on. Stainless steel seems to sweat a lot and get cold easily. I also ordered a pole mat from poleomat that got delivered today (yeay!) i'm going to pick it up at noon, and my new pole will not spin so i have to wait for the spinning attachment to come out in 2010.. all in all this will end up being $1,000 between pole, mat, and attachments. My bf thinks I have absolutely lost my mind. I haven't even told him about the pole just the mat... how do you hide a new brass pole, lol...

😂 Miss Julie! I have so many poles I doubt my bf would notice a new one 🙄 😂 I agree Stainless Steel is temperamental based on the environment. I have always gotten on well enough with them if I turn the air off in the summer or have the heat jacked in the winter. Have you used brass before? It's QUITE grippy, even cold. You're going from the slickest pole to the grippiest pole - you'll be heaven for awhile. Are you keeping your stage pole? Please give us a review on the freestanding when you get it - I am considering getting one but am not sure I want to spend the money. Sounds like you had no other choice but it's great that there are more poles coming out to accommodate different situations.
I can't wait for the grippiness... especially as it reaches December! Stainless steel poles suck in September. I have a studio in Austin TX (http://www.brassovariespoledancing.com). So I'm going to keep the extra pole at the studio for performances. Sometimes we need two poles for performances and unloading the platinum stages with the spinning attachment all in one big heavy piece sucks.. it will be nice to have two that you can disassemble. Will review as soon as it comes in!

I've got a lil' Minx pole, chrome and probably 50mm, and I've never had a problem with it. I tend to stick really well, so something that isn't powder coated is a little better for me. I've never really had the issue of taking it down (if I have guests, they can deal with the pole in the livingroom!). Sometimes I wish I'd done more research and gotten an X-pole, because I hear you can change them from static to spinny pretty easily, and I thought that would be a lot of fun! One day, perhaps I'll just get me a spinny one, and put up whichever I feel like at the time. Anyways, good on you to be doing research!

I know they haven't in the past because chrome is a coating - this coming from the owners mouth - and may peel off. Honestly most finishes over time will come off - which is why it is better to buy brass or stainless - while they may not be the best products to dance they are true and don't flake off. X-pole is easy to switch but for spinny preference I still prefer PS over X-pole because I can just pull a pin out of a PS pole where as I cannot change mid routine on X-pole. However X is overall more grippy unless you get on will with stainless - if you have been trained on stainless then I suggest staying with stainless, brass for brass and chrome for chrome. whatever you use in class is your best bet. 😀

Was just curious if they were now making them - I wish they would because chrome is a much better material to work with...even with the chance of flaking off over time...much grippier. 😀
Hey everyone I'm going to buy a pole soon.. and I was thinking of buying an x pole. But then when I was looking on the internet, I came across a few people who said that hardcore poles were really good. http://www.hardcorepoles.com/index.html When I went to the website, what I thought was really cool is that they have poles that glow in blacklights. which i would love. So... just wondering if anyone knows what these poles are like and if they are comparable to lil mynx or x poles. Also, is there any other poles that glow in blacklights? Thanks, Amy

I love the X pole customer service, they have always taken good care of our members, that's why we sell them. I have dealt with PS and was not happy, the pole was fine but good luck if you need something from them. Also, because I tend to move my poles from room to room, and house to house, I like having an option of changing the height of the pole. Brass would be fun but having to install one and paying for the shipping of a 12ft pole is too costly. 😲 I love the Chrome finish the most, not too grippy, not to slippy. 🥂
