What's this spin? Also, Felix at Worlds :)

Felix does it just before she goes into the stag, at 2:34. I have mostly seen in done on the ground, though. 🙂 What is it called? I couldn't find any Veena lessons for it either. I always thought it was a simple spin because i don't spin much, but when I tried it today I literally hit myself with the pole, then fell over. Thank goodness I was alone! What is going on here?! It looks like an aerial pretzel spin. 🥂 At our studio, On the ground, its called a swan spin. So we would call hers an aerial swan spin.

Yes! I would call it a aerial/air pretzel spin too! It looks very cool, I suspect that the fact that she does it on spin mode helps a lot though. Can't imagine how I would create that kind of momentum without touching the floor, so I probably won't be able to properly try this until I have my xpole. 😕

We just call this the reverse grab into pretzel. What an amazing routine though and how she holds that pose afterwards when she has taken her leg AND one of her arms off is beyond me! 😮 Loving the skirt too 🙂

I saw an interview with Felix where she said she calls this move the Eagle, because she feels like she's flying. Heh 🙂 But yeah, we call this a reverse grab to Swan (or pretzel), and I think the extreme leg exension is called a back catch. I find it much easier on a spinning pole, and it pinches much less too. 🙂
