Hey all How long does it take to warm up a pole - to be able to hang on to it for longer when doing inverts? Best to do some spins etc for maybe 10 minutes first? Have no idea 🙂

When I warm up my pole I do of lots of pivots and half spins because that warms up the area where you top hand grips - some climbing - lots of easy spins etc, lots of variations on legs grips so the bottom half is warmed up too. Climbing and sliding down is a good way too. Then, If that doesn't do it, sometimes I even literally rubb it and grasp at it (like make a fist around the pole, and then let go and repeat - like you're squeezing - and move up and down the pole) until it gets nice and sticky. Also remember YOU have to be warmed up and be producing a little bit of sweat. Too much and you'll slip off obviously, but some body heat and clamminess is great for stickage!

Yeah, I can't think of an accurate amoutn of time that it takes to warm the pole (and myself) because it all depends on the day and my mood and the poles mood and the room temperature LOL. I do like Georgia and spin shimmy and slide all around my pole. I always start with beginner moves and spins and transitions and slowly work my way up to inverting and such. if you look at my videos...pretty much every dance I ever posted was a warm up dance LOL (I need to change that) but it's an example of what I do to warm up 😉

I use a hairdryer HAHAHAHA!!!! I'm getting the mental picture of that.
Not kidding it works LOL my pole is like a frickin purple popsicle in the morning and I don't do cold well, my hairdryer is my second best friend hahaha ☀️
hairdryers are da bom ! i use mine to heat up my clothes on cold mornings 😉

I have a little space heater nearby - it warms me up more than the pole, but in turn I can better warm the pole. If that makes sense. 😉
