Hey ya'll!! My pole is set up in a COLD room, and I've been having problems with it being super slippy, despite my best efforts to warm it up. Anyway, my dad suggested using something like this, which is used to keep pipes from freezing in the winter. It sounds smart, let me check w/Hubby first, hes a journeyman plumber so I know hed have a better insight. You could also have a small space heater as well. Ive heard lots of things to warm up the pole. I read on another a board about using candle wax too.
I have 2 heating pads that I have bungeed around my pole in the past. I don't see why the heating cables would not work, just wrapping and unwrapping would be a pain. I am also not sure how well they will stay in place without insulation around them.

I always blow a fuse with the space heaters, and they're remakably ineffective in the room since it's so big!!! 😂 I imagine the heating cord thing would have to be taped on in a few places, but at least I won't have to wait forever for the pole to warm up, or keep running to the fuse box! I"m gonna give it a try!!

I use my hairdryer for a quick fix 🙂
I use a heating pad to warm up my pole. I'll try the hair dryer !
That's a brilliant idea but I wonder if it would be a pain to put on and take off every day?

infrared radient heaters are the best bet when lack of insulation in a room is a problem. We have a pair of the gigantic natural gass ones in our indoor riding arean, and a little electric one in our garage -- the one in our garage we just got from canadian tire...
i was at gelina's house yesterday with my son, and when he saw the pole he fell in love! he started to run around the pole while hanging on to it, and when he saw me do a couple of spins he wanted me to put him up on the pole (of course holding on to him!) and let him slowly go down the pole. i realized that that was a great way to warm the pole... let your kids do the work! lol and maybe he'll eventually start doing it for me ! i just thought i would share that story....
