Want to Become Pole Dancer....

Hi you guys... So, I've had the worst month ever imaginable... It involves computers crashing (and losing everything), lawsuits (against my dad), financial strain, breakups, losing my job, and almost being evicted (and having to move). I have been thinking very very long and hard about becoming a professional pole dancer and I was looking for glitterhips' old post about it because I'm pretty sure Neke had a great response about becoming professional that I wanted to re-read. But I can't seem to find it so I was hoping for a re-response or new responses. Basically, I have to move to a smaller apartment with roommates and I probably won't have room for a pole but I love it so much that I'd hate to give it up. Not to mention that I really think I could make it as a pole dancer, granted I can find a club I feel safe in. I'm going to apply for generic jobs (book store, art store, etc.) but I have no experience there (The only previous jobs I had were in art and art teaching and it's extremely difficult at this time to find jobs in those fields as an undergrad.) and besides that I want to do something that I actually enjoy and though I'm a pretty shy person, I definitely enjoy being sexy and working that pole!! I wonder if anyone has advice about going pro (especially from glitterhips, who apparently just landed a job CONGRATS!!!). I really appreciate all of you and all of your advice so anything you say will definitely be taken to heart no matter what your advice may be. Also if anyone knows a good website for finding strip clubs, that would be great; GoogleMaps doesn't seem to take me very far... Thanks!! -Shelby (PS What would my stripper name be?? hahah)

I joke with my husband all the time that I have to practice for the chance at my dream job as a pole dancer as the economy is going bad or if I lose my job....I have to prepare. The only thing I know I didn't like the idea of was the club I went to.. the girls had to come out flirt HEAVILY and sit on people's laps regardless. Hopefully you'll find a great place that doesn't have to include all that. Hope all goes well for you and you find your way through it.

Thanks guys! Yeah I found a club that seems decent; it's quite upscale and there's no touching (but apparently a lot of flirting) in it which I can totally deal with. Although, the stripperweb reviews from the dancers said there was a pretty high turnover rate... however, that same club also does amateur nights every week and always gives a $1000 prize!! So I'm gonna head over and see what that's like and hell if I can get a prize even just once a month, my rent is paid! Hahah

Hey Shelby, I unfortunately don't have any advice for you, but I wanted to let you know I was thinking about you and missing you! I'm very sorry you've had it rough lately... I hope things turn around for you and you know we're all here for you! Just keep your head up high - you're a wonderful person and you have remarkable talent (on a canvas and on a pole) so just keep on truckin'! Remember that stress and worry solves nothing and will only make you miserable, so may as well try to be cheerful so at least you're not miserable. 😜 Keep us posted!

sadly tho, amateur nights here.. arent really amateur nights -_- its more like strippers come from other clubs to get more money so =( even if i wanted to try.. i wouldnt have a snoballs chance in hell of winning /sigh if i were gonna do it i know they have places called like bikini clubs.. id wanna do that ^^ a guy posted tho "whats the point of this place? u dont get to see anything" waaaaa -_-

shelby Im so sorry you've been going through shit lately! Ive never worked in a club but if it came to it and if I had to I definately would. Just do a lot of research into the club and know that some clubs will charge you a fee to dance there. Im not the best person for advice in this area but hopefully glitter or neke or any of the other club professionals will see your post! Please keep us posted on whats going on anyway! xxx
