Above is a link – she does an invert after the handstand with a forearm-wrap-around grip. So I have two questions:

    1) is there a name for this?
    2) any prep ideas or tips for it? From what I’ve observed, it seems like this invert should be performed “sideways” (as in the video) – i.e. you tip sideways for the rotation to get hips above head, not backwards as with a basic invert (if that makes sense…?) Any other insight? I do find starting from the floor (on me knees) helps quite a bit.

I’ve heard it called “lever grip invert” and “funny grip invert”. You can do it sideways or backwards. I’ve done it a few times into brass monkey, though it’s not my fave entry.

Also the top hand can be in cup or true grip. 🙂 I think that’s about all my knowledge on the subject 😬

Here’s an old video of me doing this from the ground if that helps. https://www.studioveena.com/videos/view/53592cda-fb88-497c-bd61-77e00a9aa0eb
